We’re going on a bear hunt: Book Review

November 28, 2015
We’re going on a bear hunt by Michael Rosen is a beautifully written book for children of all ages. The lyrical, repetitive text is easy read and easy for even the youngest of children to understand.

In this book we follow a family as they go on a bear hunt. They wade through the grass, splash through the river and squelch through the mud in search of a bear. At each obstacle such as the grass, the river and the mud, the family announce that they can’t go over the mud/grass/river etc or under it so they’ll have to go through it!

When they find a cave they get quite a surprise when they do actually come across a bear! In all of their excitement I don’t they had anticipated coming across a real life bear and we follow the family as they run back the way they came and away from the bear!

This is a magical, lively and truly fun book. It was a pleasure to read and our girls absolutely loved listening to it! The illustrations are wonderful and really help to bring the families adventures to life!

I absolutely love we are going on a bear hunt. As an ex-nursery nurse it's a book I've always found to be hugely popular and I always reccommend it. Children can get so involved and interactive! Lovely little post #justanotherlinky
