The girls third day in nursery: Tough times
Today was tough.
This morning R and M were both upset and repeatedly said that they didn’t want to go to nursery.
M is still full of a cold and was coughing a lot so that didn’t help matters either.
When I got to the nursery school, both R and M were tearful. I took them into the main room and headed for their favourite teacher. She’s kind of taken the girls under her wings which is wonderful and she’s so lovely and friendly.
M started to get upset so the teacher held her arms out for M to go to her.
It’s heartbreaking and so tough to leave them there when they’re visibily upset, but I know when I leave they’re ok.
Yesterday they stayed for the whole session.
Unfortunately the girls only lasted thirty minutes today. M brought up some phlegm and got upset so the teacher called me to pick them up.
Hopefully next week she’ll feel better and that’ll mean they’ll settle in a bit better.

Give them time and they will settle in nicely. Cold and flu will be coming in really soon as the winter arrives x

Poor you and poor them. Doesn't help when they are feeling poorly. I hope next week is better for them. Your doing an amazing job and being so strong for them xx

Hi Kirsty, it's so hard emotionally to leave them when they're clearly upset. Hearing them say they don't want to go and having to just leave them. I'm trying to be strong for them, but as soon as I leave them I get a bit teary. Thanks for your comment xx

It must be really difficult. We were lucky that Harrison loved nursery from the first time he went, but his best friend struggled through it. They're sill so young and it's all so different for them. Give them time – they will love it within a few weeks and cry when it is hometime!! Thank you for linking up to #SuperparentSaturday x

Oh no! It's such a culture shock to their little bodies 🙁 I was really lucky, Phoebe was rearing to go to nursery and hasn't looked back much since (maybe life at home with me was a bit rubbish lol!). I'm sure that gentle encouragement and seeing you get excited about nursery with them should ease them into it. Thanks for linking up to #SuperparentSaturday x
