The Christmas Kingdom at The Celtic Manor Resort

R and M, our twin girls have been very luck this year as they’ve met Santa a lot! It wasn’t planned for them to meet them at him as often they have, but they’ve enjoyed every experience so far.

The girls nursery school had organised a trip for the children to visit Santa at The Christmas Kingdom in The Celtic Manor Resort. We set off from Cardiff around 9.30am and arrived around 10.30am. Perfect timing for our 11am slot.

Before we went into The Christmas Kingdom the girls had the chance to sit in Santa’s sleigh and have their picture taken, which they thought was great!

We then made our way to the entrance to meet Santa. We were greeted by a friendly elf and then showed into the reception area where there was a festive film playing on the TV.

After a short wait for everyone to arrive we were led into the first room of the Christmas kingdom. The floor was laden with colourful beanbags for the children to sit on and there was a pretty big TV screen on the wall. Before long Rebecca from CBeebies appeared on screen dressed as an Elf and began talking with the children about what they could expect from the Christmas Kingdom. They sang Jingle Bells and used their Christmas cheer to make the TV work!

The next room was Mrs Claus’s kitchen. Mrs Claus watched on as the children helped to decorate some gingerbread biscuits. The children iced their biscuits and sprinkled some sweets on top.

Next up was the post room where the children were able to write a letter to Santa and do some festive colouring in. There was Elf in this room who was very smiley and friendly. He appeared to enjoy what he was doing, as did the children.

We were then able to post the letters in the postbox before going one-by-one to see Santa.
I like that we could go into see Santa as a family, just the four of us. The girls were able to talk to Santa, have a picture taken and receive a gift from him.
Overall, we had a lovely time. Thank you Celtic Manor!

We’ve also started living a more eco-friendly life. As such I also write about our zero waste journey in a bid to encourage others to think about the impact they have on the environment.

I’m a keen runner and in April 2019 I ran the London Marathon for an amazing charity called WellChild. It’s one of my biggest achievements to date. I raised over £2,000 for the charity and learnt so much along the way.

This year we’re passionate about spending time outdoors. We’ll be sharing our travel, days out and camping adventures right here on Twin Mummy and Daddy.

    I can't wait until my little one reaches an age where she isn't scared of Santa! It's not exactly magical when she's desperate to get out of the grotto and is clearly terrified! This Santa experience looks great. The biscuit decorating is such a lovely idea, and I like that you could go in to see Santa as a family. I'll be looking into this for next year!

    It sounds great that they can decorate the biscuits and meet Mother Claus first. A lovely photo of you all too!
