My New Year’s Resolutions

Mummy with twins and race medal

I read a blog post that my sister wrote a few weeks ago which was all about what her new year’s resolutions were. After having a read, I felt inspired to write my own list of new year’s resolutions too. Now, I’m not saying that I’ll be sticking to all these resolutions, but by writing them down it certainly gives me some inspiration and perhaps some motivation to stick to them. My first resolution is to continue to eat healthier, in addition to exercising. I’ve written about my progress on my blog and so far so good, so I hope… [Read More]

Organising a birthday party for four year old twins!

Who would have thought that organising a birthday party for four year olds would be so stressful! R and M started nursery in September 2015 so I was pretty relived that I’d have the chance to go to a few birthday parties before I’d have to start planning our girls party. I was hoping they’d provide me with some information and inspiration about what to do. The first party was in a hall with a lot of children. I think the whole nursery class were invited. It was a joint party so I could understand the amount of children there…. [Read More]

Sleep Update at Three Years Old

When our twins were born back in 2012 they slept like little angels for the first six months.  As soon as their first tooth started to come through sleep went out of the window. They went from sleeping in their own cots every night, all night to waking up frequently every night, all night.  We tried many different things to try to help them to sleep. Crying it out didn’t work because I couldn’t go through with it for longer than a minute or two, but at the same time holding them, cuddling them, rocking them didn’t help either because… [Read More]

Celebrating 20 Years of Good Causes

On November 19th 2014, the National Lottery celebrated 20 years of Good Causes. The £32 billion raised from the fund has helped a wealth of charities and projects across the UK, including the funding of 12,700 after school clubs and the preservation of 70,500 hectares of wildlife habitats. The fund has also invested £1.4 billion into health projects over the last five years and £526 million to help improve the quality of life for the over 60’s. To say thank you and help raise awareness of how Good Causes funding has helped improve communities across the UK, World Lottery Club… [Read More]

Twinkl Educational Resources Review

Teaching our children valuable skills when they’re young can help give them a real head start and also prepare them better for when they start school. When Twinkl contacted me about reviewing their services, I took one look at their website and agreed! I’m a big believer that parents should play an active part in their children’s education. I’ve looked into home schooling my children and have learnt a lot about the education system in doing so. Twinkl is a fantastic online educational resource website. From the age of two onward (in my opinion), you’ll be able to find something… [Read More]

Bedtime routines at two years old

It’s been a long day. 6.30pm arrives. The girls are in their pyjamas, as am I! We make our way into the kitchen and grab a bottle of milk from the counter top. M is in daddy’s arms, whilst R is cradled in mine. We return to our front room. The blinds have been closed and the curtains drawn. We’ve said goodnight to the outside world and turned the lights off. The TV is on mute and I can’t wait for the girls to sleep so I can just sit and do nothing! At just over two years old, I… [Read More]

My 1st Years Personalised Teddy Bear Review

I love gifts that have something unique about them. Something that shows a bit of thought has gone into it. This is one of the reasons why I’m making our girls a quilt each made out of their old baby clothes. When I was asked to review a product from My 1st Years, I chose two Personalised Teddy Bears. Like most children I imagine, our girls have a lot of cuddly toys, but not many of them can be kept as a keep sake. I have saved the girls first comforters and their sisters bought them a bear each from build a… [Read More]

Kick My Habits

Like most people I’ve over indulged a little over the Christmas period. Too many chocolates, cakes and biscuits. One of new years resolutions is to start living a healthier lifestyle. I want to loose weight, get active and get fit! Most days I eat a lot of junk food and as well as adding pounds to my waistlines, it also means losing pounds from our bank account! This handy tool courtesy of Leeds Building Society helps you to find out much you could save if you kicked some of your habits. New Years Resolutions

2013 has been an amazing year. We celebrated our twins first birthday right back at the beginning of the year and now we’ve just enjoyed their second Christmas. As I look forward to the year ahead it’s made me think of what new year’s resolutions I’d like to make. I haven’t got many, but I do aim to achieve them all! Lose Weight I imagine this one is probably on a lot of people’s lists. I currently weight around 11 stone and would love to lose a stone or two. I don’t quite know yet how I’m going to achieve… [Read More]
