Exploring Rock Pools at Rest Bay, Porthcawl

Last week I shared a post called 50 things to do before you’re 11 3/4. Over the summer holidays, our girls and I will be trying to do as many of these as we can. Before we started, we were able to tick a number of the activities off that we’d already done. Once we’d done this, we had a look at what was left. The girls decided that they’d like to explore rock pools, so that’s exactly what we did the weekend before last. My husband and I were weighing up where was best to go and we decided on… [Read More]

50 things to do before you’re 11 3/4

When I look back at my childhood, I do so with many fond memories. When I wasn’t in school, I was usually outdoors with my friends. Walking, riding bikes, playing and generally having what is now know as ‘old fashioned’ fun. The majority of my childhood was spent outdoors and I firmly believe that this is how childhood should be. Whilst I think my husband and I are in the minority because our children do not have iPads and rarely using technology, they do however, spend a lot of time watching TV. This summer, I’m keen to change this and… [Read More]

A day out at Dyffryn Gardens with the National Trust

Dyffryn Gardens in the Vale of Glamorgan is part of the National Trust. However, it’s not like your average National Trust place, but instead a work in progress. Over the years, it’s had many uses. From a family home to a training centre and now it belongs to the National Trusts. The Vale of Glamorgan Council have spent £1m on a new roof and stonework and a further £1.3m with grants from Heritage Lottery Fund and Cadw to reinstate five feature rooms. Today, we had the pleasure of visiting Dyffryn Gardens with our five year old twins. Before I go… [Read More]

National Bed Wetting Day

The 24th of May is National Bed Wetting Day. As a mum of children under the age of five, it’s important to me that I understand the reasons why children wet the bed, but also to find out what we can do to stop bed wetting. Our twins are four years old and they still wear nappies at night time. I’ve not thought about potty training them at night yet because when they wake in the mornings their nappies are quite full. It’s fairly common knowledge that children usually take longer to be dry at night than in the day…. [Read More]

Did you know that tomorrow is National Tea Day?

It’s basically a celebration of Britain’s national drink, the humble cup of tea! We’re big Disney fans in our home so when I took a sneaky peek into the parcel that arrived, I knew the girls would love the dolls! National Tell A Story Day

National Tell A Story Day is on April 27th 2015. Mecca Bingo have challenged me to come up with my very own story in aid of National Tell A Story Day. The Dinosaur Roar Thump, thump, thump went the dinosaur’s feet as he jumped and galloped through the big, tall trees. Thwack, thwack, thwack went the dinosaur’s tail swishing to and fro. Sniff, sniff, sniff went the dinosaur’s nose.  Where’s my roar? My dinosaur roar? It must be here somewhere.  I’m sure it’s here somewhere! I can’t find it. It’s not under the leaves or in my cave.  Not under my favourite stone… [Read More]
