Five Basic Ideas to Create A Cozy Home

Most people have seen those nasty home transformation shows during days gone by. You already know the variety, wherein a hyperactive variety of designers and then builders blitz their objective into an ‘unsuspecting’ civilian’s home, getting just an hour to confirm a fantastic make-over. The make-over designer snatches up certain worthless cushions, whips up the carpet, and then presto, the overall part is an amazing palace. Don’t we tend to desire that our bored houses might be awoken with such type of quick and electrifying fervor? We are not pushing you to create your house your own ideal mansion, however,… [Read More]

Making life easier for those with mobility issues

Growing old isn’t something that I think about an awful lot. It does pop into my mind on occasion though. Mainly when I’m sitting with my elderly mother-in-law and talking to her about her latest bruises, aches and pains. Something that she shows me often! Like many elderly people, my mother-in-law lives alone, rarely leaves her house and doesn’t come into contact with many other people anymore. The good thing is that we only live around the corner from her so if anything goes wrong, if she needs anything etc, we can get there pretty quickly. My husband, her son,… [Read More]

The Meeting Room aka The Toilet!

A few days ago I wandered into our bathroom to do my business, as you do, and before I’d even had a chance to sit down I was joined by not one, but both of my daughters! I’ll be honest and admit that I don’t get it. I mean when I’m in our living room with them, they can happily sit and play with one another without so much as a glance towards me to check if I’m still in the room, but for whatever reason, whenever I enter the toilet, it’s almost as though the girls and I have… [Read More]

When it comes to designing our home we have a lot of space saving storage options, but now that we have to decorate our bathroom we have a… [Read More]

Potty training twins

When our twins turned two years old I started thinking about when would be the right time to potty train them. Both of our girls had shown signs of being ready before they turned two, but I wanted to wait until they were at least two for a number of reasons. The first reason is that I wanted them to have a better understanding of potty training and secondly I’ve heard that if you start too early it can take longer to potty train successfully. R and M have watched me and their daddy on the toilet pretty much since… [Read More]

Be A Good Neighbour This Christmas

Image courtesy of Dan/Freedigitalphotos.net This Christmas as you sit around a table with your family surrounded by good food and gifts galore, take a moment to remember those who are not as lucky as you and I. Like many people I’ll be enjoying Christmas day in the comfort of my own home. If it’s snowing outside it doesn’t matter to me as I’ll be kept warm in my home. I won’t be alone as I’ll have my husband and children with me, but what about your neighbours? Not everyone this Christmas will be fortunate enough to have someone to share… [Read More]
