Retro Food Stand Mixer Review from Savisto (Video)

September 27, 2016

As a keen cook, I own many different types of kitchen gadgets. From a bread maker to a slow cooker and more. Sadly my current food stand mixer is on it’s way out, although it has served me well over the past few years!

Thankfully, I was recently sent a brand new Food Stand Mixer from Savisto.

The Savisto 1260W Retro Food Stand Mixer costs £95.99 and looks pretty snazzy! Available in black or red, this compact and lightweight machine is great for dealing with all sorts of baking tasks. It comes with a 5.5l stainless bowl with a handy carry handle, as well as three different attachments and a spatula. Effectively this is a 3-in-1 mixer.

It’s very easy to use and comes with a handy instruction manual too. On the front of the machine you’ll find a dial and a lever. The lever is used to raise the top of the machine up which allows you to access the bowl.

The dial which has a pretty cool blue backlight has six speed settings, as well as a ‘pulse’ feature.

Unlike my previous mixer, the Savisto Food Mixer has a handy splash guard which features an ingredient chute. I love that it has a splashguard. It helps to ensure the ingredients stay in the bowl and also reduces mess. The ingredient chute is really useful for adding ingredients into the bowl whilst the mixer is in use.

The 5.5l stainless steel bowl can be locked into place to prevent spillages, or fully removed and carried with a convenient handle.

I also love the look of the the bowl! It reminds me a of giant mug!

As mentioned above the food mixer comes with three attachments and a spatula. The three attachments are:

  • Dough hook
  • Beater
  • Whisk

You also get a handy ‘Stand Mixer Recipes’ book, as well as the instruction manual.

The three attachments all have different uses. The beater can be used for general purpose mixing, beating, folding and combing. The paddle shaped, heavy duty die cast beater will gently, but thoroughly combine your ingredients in the most efficient way possible. Ideal for cake mixtures, icing and creams to batters, doughs and everything in between. This is the attachment that will see the most use for day-to-day mixing.

The whisk is great for preparing delicious cake mixtures, tasty batters, or anything that requires really incorporating air into the mixture.

Lastly the dough hook is perfect for making your dough for some tasty freshly bakes bread or homemade pizzas and pies. Do away with the hard work involved in mixing and kneading dough; this uniquely angled hook will gather, combine and knead the dough for you, resulting in a perfect mixture ready for baking.

All of the attachments can be quickly and easily fitted onto the mixer by simply lining them up and turning the anti-clockwise.

If you’d like to see this food mixer in action then you’re in luck! I’ve put together a video of it in use as I made a loaf of white bread using the recipe included in the book that came with the mixer.

Overall, this really is an excellent food stand mixer. It’s durable, well thought out and easy to use. I think it’s the worth the £95.99 price tag, plus it looks great.

For the purpose of this review I was gifted with one food stand mixer from Savisto. All views and opinions are 100% my own.

That mixer does look great – I like the splashguard and the ingredient chute – such a good idea to help minimise mess while still being able to add ingredients while mixing. #triedtested

This looks so good. I love how there’s a splash guard because so many times I’ve used a mixer and made a right mess! I think I may need to get this for my mother for Christmas…

I love the look of these – I’m kind of sold just on that alone, so it’s good to hear that they actually work really well too! 🙂 #triedtested
