Results with Lucy: Six Weeks In

April 11, 2016

I’m now around six weeks into my Results with Lucy New Beginnings Programme. You can read my first post here.

The New Beginnings Programme is as 13 week programme which consists of daily meal plans and workouts. This is the first time I’ve ever done a plan like this and I have to say that I’m really enjoying it for a number of reasons.

The first reason is that I love being able to plan what I’m eating. Before starting this plan I’d often end up eating rubbish because I hadn’t planned my food for the week. I’d reach for the takeaway menus and snacks on a regular basis, but with Results with Lucy, it not only helps to teach you what you should be eating and gives you exact measurements, which I love as it means less wastes, but it’s also helping me to change my eating habits.

The meals are varied which is great because it means I don’t get bored of eating the same things because it really is something different every day. Before starting this plan my diet consisted of a lot of chicken, but I”m now eating more pork and healthier meals that incorporate fish and lots of fruit and vegetables.

I love the breakfast smoothies, in particular the banana smoothie and breakfast roughie smoothie which is made up of blueberries, banana, linseeds, desiccated coconut, oats and coconut water. Talking of coconut water, I think I’ve driven my husband crazy over the amount I’ve been buying, but I really love the taste and it makes a great healthy, alternative to soft and fizzy drinks.

This is what a typical week on the New Beginnings Plan looks like.

The workouts are great too. They’re varied so every workout offers something different whether it’s cardio, dance or pilates. Each workout starts with a warm up, followed by cardio, then for example, legs and arms, followed by a cool down. Each workout is 30 minutes long and in between each one you get a rest day.

When I first started the workouts I found the warm up pretty easy, but I’m not the most co-oridinated person in the person world so the cardio was definitely a learning curve for me and I have to say that over the past six weeks I’m getting better and more able to keep up and the follow routines now that when I first started!

My measurements when I started this plan before were:

Left arm: 12″

Left thigh: 24″
Tummy: 36″
Hips: 41″
Bottom: 43″
Bust: 34″

My measurements now are:

Left arm: 11″
Left thigh: 22″
Tummy: 34″
Hips: 40″
Bottom: 41″
Bust: 34″

As you can see I have lost some inches which I’m really pleased about! I know this plan isn’t about weight, but I just have to share with you that for the first time in a long time I’m now under 11 stone! This is a massive achievement for me and sets me well on my way to a healthier, more active me!

I’ll post another update at the end of the plan in around six weeks time! Be sure to check back on my progress!
