My Favourite Christmas Decorations

December 21, 2015

Do you have a favourite Christmas decoration? I do! It has to be the handmade ornaments that my children and I made together. We used a Christmas craft kit to make hanging decorations for our Christmas tree.

Our girls used their fingers to make prints on the decorations and then we stuck a photo of our girls onto the middle of the decoration. They look fantastic on the Christmas tree and they also make gifts for family and friends!

In a bid to find out what type of Christmas tree and decorations Britons preferred during the festive season, Baytree Interiors polled 1,000 UK residents asking them a series of questions.

They first asked ‘What type of Christmas tree do you have?’ to which a staggering 49% said they had a fake or plastic tree. 18% of those polled revealed that they preferred a real tree at Christmas, but more surprisingly, 23% said that they didn’t have a tree. 10% also said that they didn’t believe in Christmas.

When I was a kid I do remember getting a real tree. I’m not sure if we had a real one every year, but I think for the majority we did. Now that I’m an adult I have an artificial tree. I find it easier than a real tree in terms of cleanliness as there are no pine needles to hoover up daily, but I also find it cheaper as I’ve had my current one for around four years and it still looks as good as new!

With this in mind though I have been wondering what the nations favourite Christmas decoration is. Turns out it’s Christmas lights, followed closely by Christmas trees, baubles, tinsels and a Christmas wreath.

I do like Christmas lights. I recently took our twin girls on a walk up our road so that they could see the lights on peoples houses! I certainly think a Christmas tree is a must at Christmas. I mean it just wouldn’t feel like Christmas if we didn’t have a tree up!

What’s your favourite Christmas decoration?
