Milk & More Review: Fresh milk and groceries delivered to your door

January 22, 2018

When I was growing up, I remember having milk delivered to the door by our local milk man. There’s something almost quaint about having those little glass bottles arriving as if by magic on your doorstep!

Unfortunately, over the years, we’ve seen a decline in traditional milk floats delivering milk to our door. With more and more people doing their grocery shopping online and opting to have it delivered to their door, I can understand why milk floats have all but disappeared.

However, they are making a come back! We recently trialled a milk delivery service by Milk & More.

Milk & More offer the same service as a local milkman would, with the convenience of managing your deliveries online.

Plus, they deliver more than just milk. From fresh bread, eggs, bacon, tea, coffee, orange juice, croissants and more! The choice is exceptional!

They deliver up to 6 days a week to over 600,000 homes all across the UK.

Placing an order online is quick and easy. Simply create your account, chose the items you want and add them to your basket. Next just choose how often you’d like your items to be delivered, the quantity of each item and a start date.

I really like that you can edit your order up until 9pm the night before your delivery is due. I did edit my order twice the night before my delivery was due and was very pleased that the amended order was successfully delivered the following day.

I also really like that you can order a small carton of milk for children. My girls absolutely love these with their breakfast in the morning!

As mentioned above placing our order online and making any changes was really easy. However, I have to be honest and say that our first delivery didn’t turn up until 1.30pm and that’s after I contacted the customer services team to find out where our delivery was.

When it did arrive, the milk man was very apologetic, however two items were missing which happened to be the children’s milk cartons. I did let the milk man know and he reassured me that everything would be there next time, and the next delivery would be earlier.

The following morning, I opened my front door and found two children’s milk cartons had been delivered. I wasn’t due a delivery that day, so was very impressed that the milk man had made an effort to correct the mistake from the day before.

Our next delivery arrived around 9.30am, which is on the late side for us. We’re usually up around 7am and eating breakfast around that time too. Obviously, without our Milk & More order, we made do with what we already had, so I do feel that, that days order went to waste a bit as we didn’t use all the milk I’d ordered, mainly because I’d hoped the delivery would arrive earlier.

Aside from the first two deliveries, the remainder of our deliveries did arrive early and on time for us to enjoy them the same day.

The freshly squeezed orange juice is absolutely delicious, and I’d highly recommend it! I wish it came in a bigger bottle as two bottles didn’t last very long in our household!

In addition to milk and orange juice, we also ordered croissants, which again were very tasty.

Now that our trial has come to end, would I continue with the deliveries?

I have to be honest and say no.

Although I really like the idea of milk and other products being delivered to our door, I just feel that the service was very hit and miss as to when it would arrive.

I can see the benefits of this service for the older generation, but it’s not for us.

For the purpose of this review, we were offered a trial with Milk & More.
