If you’re looking for a magical keepsake to gift your little one this Christmas, then I have the perfect suggestion for you!
The little girl who lost her name is a personalised book based around the letters of your child’s name. So, if your child was called Noah, he could meet a Narwhal, Okapi, Angel and Hedgehog, for example.
The beauty of these books is that each child’s name creates a unique tale. Great for those with twins, like us, or more than one child, as each story differs!
From the outside you could be mistaken for thinking that these two books hold the very same story, but don’t be fooled! For inside, the tales are very different and both very magical!
Lost my name has sold over 1.7 million copies in 176 countries! That’s a pretty amazing achievement and it’s not hard to see why these books have done so well!
I was given the freedom to create two of these books for our twins. It was really easy to do. Simply head over to the
website, choose the book of your choice – you can choose either the little girl or the little boy, amongst other products, then enter your child’s name and language.
You can then choose your child’s gender and choose from one of three ‘adventurers’ to represent your child in the book. Then all you need to do is click ‘create book’.
You’re then offered a preview of your book. It’s at this stage that you can choose the format you want. You’re given four options:

Hardcover (£29.99)
Hardcover keepsake (£34.99
For the purpose of this review we opted for the softcover version at £19.99. Now the next step is my favourite. You can add a dedication. There’s one already pre-populated for you, which is the one I used. I just added the ‘Love, Mummy and Daddy’ part. If you don’t want the pre-populated one, you can write your own.
Moving onto the story itself. Your chosen character wakes up one day to find that her name has disappeared from her bedroom door leaving the adventurer wondering what her name is!
I love the bright colours and illustrations throughout this book. They really help to get your child’s imagination going!
As the story progresses, the adventurer searches high and low, inside her house and outside. As she makes her way on her journey, she comes across all sorts of wonderful characters. The characters are dependent on your child’s name so in R’s book she came across a robot, unicorn, bear and yeti!
M’s adventurer stumbled into a mermaid, aardvark, imp, squid, inuit and an elephant! I love that both of these books are so very different, from the story to the characters and illustrations.
Of course at the end of the story, the adventurer discovers her name thanks to everyone she met on her amazing journey!
I really do think these books would make lovely gifts. They’re so personal and unique to the child you’re gifting it to and I love that you can add your own dedication!
Overall, we love these books and are very pleased with them. I can see them being books that are read over and over again!
