Homemade Blueberry Jam Recipe
Following on from my raspberry jam recipe, I thought I’d share with you how I make blueberry jam. It’s slightly different to the raspberry jam recipe and is for a smaller batch.
Ingredients
300g blueberries
50g white sugar
Juice of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
Method
Mix the blueberries, sugar and lemon juice together in a pan
Add the cinnamon and stir
Place the saucepan over a medium and stir continuously for 30 minutes until thickened
Carefully transfer into airtight jam jars and leave to cool.
Once cool pop the lid on – making sure it’s airtight – and pop in the fridge to thicken.
Freezing blueberries
I went to a fruit farm and picked our blueberries so we had quite a few left over.
To freeze blueberries lay them out onto a baking tray and place them in the freezer. Do not wash them. You can give them a rinse when you defrost them.
Once the blueberries are hard, you can then transfer them into freezer bags for easier storage in your freezer.
