First Cinema Trip with Toddler Twins
I’ve been wanting to take our girls to the cinema for a while now, but have been put off by both the price and length of some of the films on show.
I had hoped to take the girls to see Peppa Pig a month or so back, but it would have cost £30.00 for my husband and I to take them. Considering that the film was only an hour long this seemed really expensive to me.
However, I recently found out that our local Odeon cinema have a kids club. They show kids films every Saturday and Sunday morning and it only cost us £2.50 each for the girls. Bargain!
I looked at the website and saw two movies that appealed. These were ‘Home’ and ‘Tinkerbelle and the Legend of the Neverbeast’.
Home appealed to me more because it looked funnier, but it was a PG and I’m not sure the girls would have found it funny. It was also 96 minutes long.
Tinkerbelle and the legend of the Neverbeast was a ‘U’ and was only an hour long. As this film contained fairies I thought it would be more appealing to the girls so this is the one we went for.
We told R and M that we’d be going to the cinema and we told them the name of the film and a little about what it was about.
I think M was a bit nervous by the name ‘Neverbeast’. She asked if would come out and I explained that it was just like a big TV screem and reassured her that nothing would come out of the screen!
When we arrived we were the first people in the screen. It was pretty dark as the lights were dimmed very low, but the girls didn’t seem to mind!
We chose our seats in the middle and settled down for the movie to start.
I bought some snacks with us in case the girls got hungry. Some grapes and a chocolate bar!
R and M sat on our laps to start with, then M decided she wanted to sit in her own chair about half way through.
When the Neverbeast first came on the screen, M was a little nervous, but when she saw that he was friendly she was absolutely fine and both her and R really enjoyed the film.
Afterwards we went for a lovely family meal. We had a really good time and I would definitely taken them to the cinema again. An hours film was perfect. I wouldn’t take them to one any longer at the moment, but when they’re a bit older I wouldn’t hesitate!

I've not taken James to watch a film in the cinema, but when he was about 9 months or so I took him to the Mummy and Me showing of The Great Gatsby at our local Odeon. He slept through a lot and I got to see a movie!

Aww bless her! Asking if it came out of the screen!! So cute.
I haven't taken my girls to cinema yet, I have been thinking about it but then I don't think I could handle their tantrums if they want to get out ha ha!

we keep talking about how our just turned 4 yr old is probably OK now to sit through a whole movie, but still haven't gotten up the courage to try. I'd like to be able to find something short for a test run

We've been to the cinema with our girls. The kids clubs are great aren't they. A family of 4 can go to ours and have popcorn for £10, which is great isn't it. #binkylinky

We haven't been to the cinema yet – Harrison is 4 next week and Alex is 2, and I'm not sure they'd sit through an entire film, so well done to the girls! Neither me or the other half are big cinema goers either. #binkylinky

Oh this is such a lovely thing to do, I'm so excited about taking O to the cinema for the first time. He is still a little too young, kids club sounds like a bargain!

Yes, I took Pickle to see 'Home' just after EASTER – he loved it! You've reminded me, I don't think I actually wrote the post about our trip!! Lovely post, glad the girls enjoyed it. Kaz x x

Our first film with the Tubblet was Magic Roundabout. She loved it! We love the Saturday morning film clubs as they're so much cheaper. Glad they had a lovely time! #binkylinky

We went a couple of months ago on a vue children's club deal. T 3 1/2 loved it! He had been asking for months to go but we didn't think he'd sit through. We did have to have a couple of comfort breaks and he couldn't sit on the chair because it kept flipping up but we can't wait to go again when we have a free Sunday! Thanks for hosting #binkylinky x

We opted for a kids club viewing as the first film for the little lady as were worried she would get bored and want to leave. It is just so expensive at any other time, which really puts us off at other times as well.

Wow, how good are your girls sitting through a film. well done R and M. We haven't been the cinema yet with little J but I remember when we took big J.
