Dulux Decorator Centre. SS’16 interior trends

February 15, 2016
As the winter months start to dissolve into sweet spring and summer, it is now time, more than ever, to explore the ultimate interior trends. Maybe it’s about time you found the inspiration and motivation for that super spring clean. Look no further for that inspiration than here, as I bring you all the information and ideas you need to set up your interior ready for the sunny season. Dulux Decorator Centre has every trend on point for SS’16 so take a look at what they have on offer.
Rose petal pinks
So the beauty of this trend for your spring summer interiors is that rose petal pink can come in all kinds of shades and spaces. Think of the variations of shades a pink rose can possess now just chose one that has a dusky pastel tone and you’re on your way to the perfect selection. Here’s the two we’ve selected from DDC; Berry Smoothie & Jasmine Shimmer.

Paint your feature wall in this shade, paired with a more neutral or paler tone for a perfect pastel combination. This season I also love the metallic version of these tones; go for a rose gold, metallic lamp shade for an eclectic take on the calming pastels. Here are our two favourite uses of these tones. This is what I would class as a sophisticated spring heaven!

Fruity greens
Not the edible kind although these shades do look good enough to eat. The calming earthly tone to pastel mint can be used in a range of spaces, including in the main living area of your home, and go wonderfully with Dulux’s Jasmine Silk colour. Below are contrasting pastel greens that can work either alone, together and/or with other colours too; luscious lime and kiwi crush.

See below how the rose and fruity green work together as a wonderful marriage of spring tones, or just a simple compilation of the tonal mints for a variation of the shade. Remember also, you always have the option of colour mixing in Dulux mixlab, so if you’re struggling to decide on one colour, why not combine a few?

Bringing the outside in – Leafy patterns
As a step forward from the spring tones and lime shades, I bring you not so much a colour, but rather a pattern or motif; the leaf is the perfect detail to add some interest to your interior spaces and can be paired wonderfully with either of the above shades mentioned. Dulux have some great versions of this print on their glorious wallpaper designs. We love them for a feature wall or chimney breast, for that refreshing spring vibe that can carry you straight through to summer

This iconic Baker design is the perfect example of the seriously on trend leaf print. Dulux have got this one down to a T. A little top tip for further inspiration, explore images of real life ferns and leaves for that authentic inspiration.
Personal favourite; Ombre
Finally is the sleek ombre concept that should feature within your interior design this spring/summer. The Osborne & Little print we’ve chosen for this trend from Dulux combines the leafy print, with a metallic ombre effect, so not only does it tick the metallic box, but a range of the other interior must haves for this season too. We know you’ll love this just as much as we do.

I think you will all agree that by the end of this post you’ll all be feeling extremely enthused and inspired to go out and start selecting your key colours and features for the ultimate spring/sumer’16 interior.
