Disneyland Paris 2018 Trip Report Day 3

Last night I went to the concierge desk in the Disneyland Hotel where we’re staying and asked about booking the Marvel meal. This is a meal in the Manhattan Restaurant inside the Newport Bay Hotel, in which you get to meet Captain America, Thor and Black Widow.

Unfortunately, I was told that it was fully booked for the rest of our stay. I was disappointed, but we’d already met Captain America which was a bonus so I didn’t think of anymore of it. That was until the morning of day 3. I decided to call concierge from our room to double check if there were any spaces, and I spoke to a lovely lady who managed to book us in for the 9.30pm Marvel meal! What was even more amazing is that we could use our premium vouchers to pay for the meal which means we didn’t have to pay anything extra!

We husband and I decided to keep the Marvel meal a secret from our girls until later in the day!

We then the spent the morning going on some rides such as the carousel which is always a firm favourite, as well as Slinky Dog in the Studios. We did wander over to the Pirates of the Caribbean area as this was closed when we came last year.

We asked R and M if they wanted to go on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and they weren’t too sure so I found a video of the ride on the You Tube, and it was a very firm no from them! They didn’t want to go on!

We then headed over to Auberge De Cendrillion for a Princess lunch. Now, last year, none of us were very fussed on the food. It’s traditional French cuisine, but this year, I have to say we all found the food to be lovely.

I had the cream of pumpkin soup to start with. I was a bit taken a back to see it covered in some kind of pastry, but it was delicious!

Our children had the Fairy Nibbles to start which is smoked salmon, cream cheese and Mickey toast.

My husband had the wild prawns with saffron butter, herb salad and crunchy vegetables.

Both of our girls had the chicken breast with vegetables and creamy tomato sauce. One had it with potatoes, and the other with spaghetti.

For my main course I had chicken fricassee with morel mushrooms, and it was so tasty!

My husband had the fillet of turbot and champagne sauce, asparagus risotto.

For desert our girls had Cinderella’s Surprise which is a white chocolate shoe filled with chocolate mouse.

My husband and I both had Cinderella’s Desert which again has a white chocolate shoe, and it like a cake. Again, very tasty!

During lunch we were visited at our table by Cinderella and her mice, Suzy and Perla, followed by Ariel and Aurora. Just as were about to leave, we spotted Rapunzel so we hastily sat back down again so as not to miss her!

The interaction from all of the Princesses was amazing, and Aurora loved M’s Aurora dress!

After lunch we decided to head over to the Studios to see if we could catch the Superheroes Unite show. On our way there we bumped into the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, so we had photos taken & he signed the girls autograph books.

In the Studios we watched the stark expo show on the stage in production courtyard in studios which was very good.

Sadly we missed the 2.45pm show of Superhero’s Unite as the queue was so long they closed it just as we arrived. We soon learnt that we’d need to start queuing around 2 hours before the show starts to guarantee that you get in!

We went on more rides in the Studios and then queued at 3.15pm for the 4.50pm show of Superheroes Unite. I don’t want to give away any spoilers so all I will say is that it’s amazing and worth queuing for!

After the show we headed back to our room for a nap before announcing to the girls that that evening we’d be meeting Captain America, Thor and Black Widow! They were very excited!

When we arrived we were seated pretty quickly and given a sign to say we’d meet the superheroes soon.

We had our food from the buffet and as we were seated by the buffet we were next to where the superheroes go for a break so we got some good interaction as they walked passed.

Captain America even kissed one of our girls on the cheek and now she wants to marry him!

It wasn’t long before we were called up to meet Thor and Captain America – sadly Black Widow had left – but Thor and Captain America were amazing! Definitely worth it!

The Marvel Dinner was amazing. The interaction from Thor and Captain America was brilliant, and I know our girls will always remember this moment!

So that’s day three! Keep an eye out for day four soon!

  1. Haha! Loe your comments about French food! I can’t stand french food personally, and I am half-french. Moving on….looks like a great meal and I know my youngest would love to meet some Marvel characters. Certianly seems like you had a good time at Disneyland Paris. A destination I haven’t been to in almost 20 years! Thanks for hosting #thatfridaylinky

  3. This sounds like such a fab trip. I’ve not been to Disneyland Paris since I was pregnant with the girls. I’m thinking about taking them all before Christmas. The character dinner sounds fab.

  4. I never knew Disney had any ereal looking food! Always garbage and unhealthy findings. We usually bring our own. It looks like you dined like kings and queens! #thatfridaylinky
