Dear Children…

April 24, 2018

Dear Children,

I want to start this letter by telling you both that Mummy and Daddy love you more than words can ever express.

We want you both to be happy, and in order for that to happen, we’ll always be there for you, supporting you both through good and bad times.

This letter has been written with a lot of love behind it.

Life can be tough.

It can be cruel.

It can break even the strongest of human beings.

However, if we can go forward in life with a positive, can-do attitude then we truly believe that anything is possible.

Be a ‘Yes’ person.

Say yes to new opportunities and experiences.

Live life to the fullest. Go on an adventure, climb mountains, wear those cute custom T-shirts, get lost, make lots of friends. Some will only last a few days, others a lifetime.

Make memories, have fun and always be yourself, but always have a back up plan!

Get your education.

Work hard to achieve your full potential and give yourself the best start in life.

School doesn’t need to be boring. Enjoy learning everything and anything that you can.

Study hard and get good grades.

Find your passion and pursue it as though nothing else matters.

Your passion can become your job. If you enjoy what you do, you’ll do it better.

Get a degree in something worthwhile. Something that you’ll always be able to use, fall back on – nursing, IT, business, etc.

Look after yourselves.

It’s so important to us that you both eat well, stay fit and active. That’s the best way to live a long and happy life.

Get your smear test done!

You never had the chance to meet my mum, your nanna.

She died of ovarian cancer.

It’s so important that you go for your smear test.

Be independent, both financially and socially. Don’t ever have to rely on anyone else. Yes, seek comfort, help and advice from those who care for you, but always make sure you can look after number one.

Make good friends, and don’t forget about them if you fall in love.

It’s always good to have friends you can rely upon and talk to when you need to.

Be silly, enjoy life, be safe, responsible and learn from your mistakes, but most of all be happy, love well, and always remember that Mummy and Daddy are always here for you both.

With all the love in our hearts and more,

Mummy and Daddy xx
