Childhood
When Laura over at ‘Pass the Sedatives‘ invited me to join her on a blog hop, I was delighted!
In my opinion, the picture to the right is what childhood should be about. Lots of toys, food and love. Childhood should be filled with plenty of happiness, fun and laughter. Children should be children and I strongly believe that they grow up too quick these days.
When I was a child, I remember sitting at the table in the dining room with my twin sister. A barbie doll house sat on the table in front of us and we each had a barbie in our hands. Innocently playing house and making the dolls dance and have conversations with each other, we would sit there for hours, not a care in the world!
Our house was a good size, in a good area and we had a fairly big garden, which we would use to build dens, climb the apple tree and sit in the paddling pool to cool down on a hot day. Unfortunately, not many children are that lucky. A fellow mummy blogger, over at ‘Patch of Puddles‘, is raising awareness of the charity ‘World Vision‘.
Up until August 30th, World Vision can obtain matched funding by the Department for International Development (DFID). This means that the government will double every pound you donate. If you can make a donation, please visit the World Vision website, by clicking here.
As this is a blog hop raising awareness, I’m going to tag a couple of fellow bloggers and ask them to help spread the word: Ms Mummy of Two and Anonomum. Merry’s post, that explains everything can be found by clicking here.
I would also like to add on a personal note, that charities abroad are doing a fantastic job at raising funds and awareness of those less fortunate than ourselves. However, there are also plenty of children and adults who need our help within the UK. There are many great charities around, who all do invaluable work for those who need help within the UK.
