Childbirth

August 11, 2013

Do you ever sit and wonder about certain things in your life? I consider myself to be a bit of a day dreamer, a thinker and I believe that I have quite a positive outlook on life. I have been thinking to myself lately that I find it quite strange that even though I am a mum, I have never actually experienced a contraction. I guess those of you who have will probably think I am crazy for thinking this, but I do wonder what one feels like!

I wonder what it must feel like when your waters break and I wonder how painful is labour! I had a c-section and I know some people say that having a c-section isn’t giving birth, but to me it is. I do find it strange that I will never experience labour. I wonder if I have missed out on anything by not giving birth in this way! I wish I could have had my twins naturally. I love the thought of them being placed on my chest, just seconds after entering the world and then snuggling in for their first breastfeed. I didn’t have any of that. As soon as our girls were born I was able to give them a quick kiss and then they were gone. They were whisked off to the neo-natal intensive care unit. I cried throughout the whole operation, so when Twin Daddy held them in front of me so I could see them, I couldn’t see them for all my tears.
Childbirth is amazing! It doesn’t matter if you give birth naturally without any pain relief or whether you take every drug offered to you. It doesn’t matter if you give birth via a c-section. A baby being born is what matters regardless of how they enter the world.

I've had two planned c-sections so have never been in labour or felt contractions either!….I often wonder what it's like too!…

Those people say that having a c-section isn't giving birth are talking rubbish….A baby is born therefor we gave birth…lol x
