Brilliant Mum Feature: Week 8
Hello and welcome to the Brilliant Mum Feature. Once a week I will be featuring one mum in a bid to find out more about them and their lives.
If you’d like to take part in this series, simply fill in this form.

This week our brilliant mum feature is Sinead who blogs at CheekiMummy. Cheekimummy, CheekiDaddy and MiniMonkey makes 3. Sinead says, “We hide within the walls of Birmingham and we are proud that this city is our home. Being with the other half for 8 years now, we were never having children or getting married as we were very happy being selfish and spending our money on anyone, but ourselves! 3 years later we have the MiniMonkey and on my birthday last year CheekiDaddy proposed to me! So I guess we have to eat our proverbial hats. Spare time is precious and as we both work it is rare we get to spend time all together.”
Thanks for taking part Sinead!
Have you always wanted to be a mum?
No. I’ve never had that maternal need.

How did you feel when your children were born?
It was the most horrible thing which resulted in a 3 day labour and then an emergency C section….but the second I saw him I knew it was love.
What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?
Just knowing I am molding this small human to be awesome. Seeing him become such a gentle soul makes me know I’m doing ok.

What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?
I think it’s those moments when you think I can’t believe I had to say that…’stop doing the naked dance’ and my other top favourite is ‘your willy is not a trumpet’.
Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?
Those long nights when they are inconsolable and the level and intensity of tears is so much you have to put them down and step away. That was hard. The nights were the hardest.
What are your dreams and hopes for your children?
For him to be happy in whatever he chooses. The world is his to make his mark and I want to make sure he has the skills and empathy to take it on
