Big Night In
Our twins were born in February 2012 and ever since they arrived into the world, Twin Daddy and I have never spent a night away from them. We have however, spent a few hours away from them…once! We went out for lunch and had planned to go to the cinema as well, but we missed our girls so much that we went home after we had eaten our meals!
Most nights, well actually every night all Twin Daddy and I do is watch TV, have a chat or I might read a book, whilst he plays a bit of X-box. R is a really good sleeper, so when I put her in her cot I know she’ll stay there. Some nights she will wake up if she’s having a nightmare or if she is cutting a tooth, but otherwise she enjoys her sleep. M, on the other hand is not so good. After being put in her cot, it could be anything from half an hour to two hours, but without fail she will wake up and Twin Daddy will go to her and rock her back to sleep.
Christmas just gone, Twin Daddy bought me the Sex and the City box set because I am a big fan. I have often dreamt about watching it after the girls have gone to bed, but we live in a maisonette so everything is on the ground floor and our living room is right next to where the girls sleep. This means that we don’t have the sound on the TV. We watch TV with the subtitles on! I know this sounds silly and if you’d have told me this before the girls were born I would have laughed!
If Twin Daddy and I could have a special (uninterrupted) night in and we had £750 to spend, I would hire a chef to cook a delicious 3 course meal. Twin Daddy would have a prawn cocktail to start, steak for his main and for desert profiteroles. I would have a nice salad for my starter, followed by chicken in a nice sauce with chips and vegetables. For desert I would have a chocolate cake with hot fudge sauce poured all over it! We’d eat at a romantic candle lit table and be serenaded by some beautiful music.
After our delicious meal, I would have some pampering of my own! A facial, massage and a manicure, whilst Twin Daddy relaxes to some music with his Dr Dre Beats headphones (which he doesn’t own, but you never know what Santa may bring!).
We would then settle down for a big movie night! Before the twins were born we would go to the cinema around 3-4 times a month. We haven’t been able to do this, so I’d love to spend the rest of the evening watching some of the films that we would have liked to have gone to the cinema to see, but didn’t have the chance to.
