Back To Baby Group – Get it out of your mouth!
It’s probably been a good month since I have been to baby group. The main reason I haven’t taken the girls for a while is because they were ill. The first time I took our girls to baby group was Thursday, September 27th. Read more about our first time here. Just over a week after our first baby group encounter, we also had another first encounter.
No, not aliens!
Our twins first illness, which you can read about here.
This well and truly put me off going to baby group for a while. I was so pleased with myself for surviving baby group and it took a long while for me to muster up the courage and confidence to go, so when our girls became ill, I felt a little sad about the whole situation.
I wanted to go to baby group but I was put off going because I didn’t want to go through them being ill again! Undoubtedly, our girls will have many more illnesses to come, when they start nursery and I know that it’s all part of growing up, but coping with two ill babies is hard work!
Anyway, the past week, well since last Thursday I have been back to baby group three times! Woo hoo!
The first time I went to baby group, I was quite vigilant about the girls putting toys in their mouths but I admit I could have been more vigilant about it. This time around though I am 100% on top of it!
Well, that is to say until they start crawling in different directions!
For now though, I have found an answer! Dummies! Yes, I’m sure all the other mums, grans, carers and dads might look at me a bit gone off, as every time a dummy falls out of my little one’s mouths I promptly put it back in but I can assure you at home they can chew, suck and attempt to eat any toy they like!
I find it very unhygienic that at the end of baby group, all the toys are put back into a box in the cupboard without so much as a wipe down. Surely, the money we pay to attend baby group can stretch to a tupperware box and some milton to sterilise the toys?
Is it too much to ask? Do they do this at nursery? I hope so, as our girls will be starting nursery soon!
