School has been in full force for a number of weeks now and our girls have settled into year one really well. It seems the transition from nursery into reception was the most difficult as there were tears, but as I watched our girls walk into their classroom for the start of year one, there wasn’t a single tear in sight. A sign that they’re growing up!
Of course, with the new school term that means the inevitable coughs and colds, as well as scraped knees and bruised elbows!

Naturally before going to school we want our kids to be clean so that’s why I bought Johnson’s baby bath and the two shower scrunchies. I know our girls aren’t babies any more, but I still find Jonhson’s a good product to use.
I always say that when you have children, you can never have enough plasters! This family pack by Elastoplast has 40 assorted plasters including Disney ones which are sure to put a smile on any child’s face!
Next up we have a pack of two nit combs from Safe+Sound Health. Thankfully we haven’t had head lice in our home yet, but I think it’s good to be prepared. I do also run a nit comb through the girls hair once a week. I put some conditioner on their hair first and then run the comb through.
As mentioned above the start of school often means coughs and cold so I like to have a fully stocked medicine cupboard. We’ve always used Nurofen ever since the girls were little so I always make sure we have some at home. The Calpol Saline Nasal Spray is also a product that I’ve used before and I can highly recommend it, along with Vicks VapoRub for sniffly noses.
In addition to these, I think it’s handy to have some cough medicine too. Day time coughs aren’t so bad, but when your children gets an irritating night time cough that disrupts their sleep, that’s the worst!
I also bought the girls a chapstick each. With the colder weather, the girls skin can become dry quickly, especially their mouths.
Lastly we have a first aid kit. This medium first aid is just £14.99. I have a first aid kit in my house already, but I like to have one in the car too and this one is perfect for that.
