AD| The impact lockdown has had on relationships
Lockdown has had a massive impact on so many people’s lives. Not only has it resulted in businesses going into administration leaving thousands out of people of work, it’s also meant that a huge percentage of the population have been furloughed. While some people take this in their stride, others have been left not knowing where to turn.
Of course, on top of this you have the self-employed who appear to be the last group of people that the government have considered when it comes to offering support to them.
Work aside and the lockdown has also had an impact on the relationships we have with other people. From single parents being separated from their children because their child has to stay at one parents home, to grandparents being separated from their grandchildren, boyfriends being separated from their girlfriends and of course friends not being able to see one another.
Just a few weeks ago someone I know shared online that they’re still waiting to meet their newborn grandchild. The impact is huge and has left many people missing important milestones in their lives. For me, the biggest impact has been on my children not having the routine of school life and they’re really missing their friends. It’s such a tough time at the moment, and trying to explain it all to children can be tough. My girls were very lucky that their birthday party was able to go ahead as the lockdown wasn’t in place then and we didn’t know much about the virus. However, plenty of the girls school friends will be celebrating their birthdays without a party and without their friends and families.
Yes, I think it’s fair to say that the coronavirus outbreak has certainly impacted everyone in one way or another. Marriages aside and of course, for people who prefer a more casual relationship, it’s affected those people too. As we see parts of the UK and other countries easing out of lockdown, single people are finding it harder and harder to meet new people regularly.
With pubs, clubs, restaurants, gyms and parks closed, the options available to meet new people have changed dramatically. That could be why there has been a rise in the number of people visiting no strings dating websites and this adult dating site in particular.
