Disclaimer: I was gifted the Mikki Pet and Nooshie products featured in this post. All other products were bought with my own money.
We’re very excited to have welcomed a beautiful kitten into our home recently. Having lost our pet rabbit back in February, our home has felt somewhat empty. I grew up surrounded by pets so it’s fair to say I’m a big animal lover.
In preparation for our new kittens arrival, we’ve been researching the best kitten friendly products on the market. Keep an eye on our Instagram page to view these products in action with our new kitten.
Mikki Pet
First up are some products from Mikki Pet. We were sent their kitten grooming kit, cat & kitten shampoo along with two toys – a teaser wand toy with catnip and a fish toy.

Mikki Pet Kitten Grooming Kit
The kitten grooming kit, which can be purchased online from Pets at Home for £12.50, contains a slicker brush for general grooming, a comb for finer grooming, and a flea comb.

The comb features rotating 360 degree teeth. One of the best ways to bond with your new kitten is to brush them. Regular grooming also helps your kitten get used to being brushed so that it becomes enjoyable.

This kitten grooming kit is easy to use and has double temperature hardened steel and high grade impact resistant ABS plastic.
Mikki Pet Cat & Kitten Shampoo
This Cat & Kitten Shampoo by Mikki Pet in ‘Crisp Pear’ smells amazing. Naturally cats will clean themselves very well without the need for their owners to bathe them but there may be occasion when a quick clean up job is required. That’s why Mikki Pet Cat & Kitten Shampoo is perfect for this. It’s gentle on their skin, has a subtle smell and is easy to use.

Simply wet your cats coat with warm water and, working from the neck down, apply shampoo and work into a lather. Massage the coat well for several minutes, taking great care around the ears and eyes then rinse thoroughly with clean warm water. All you need to do then is towel dry and then brush and comb your kitten as normal. Don’t forget to keep your kitten warm after bathing.
Mikki Pet Playtime Toys
Another great way to bond with your kitten is through play. This PetLove Realistic Catnip Fish toy is ideal for cats and kittens. The catnip will spark their curiosity and prevent boredom. It’s made from tough, durable materials to withstand scratching and biting.

Next up is this cat teaser wand. It’s another great way to play with your kitten plus it has catnip to encourage your kitten to play. This wand toy is great for children to play with the kitten. It means they can play without the risk of hands getting scratched. We really love the colourful, soft furry with feathers at the end.

Cat Post
This cat post is just £19.99 from The Range and is the perfect size for a kitten. It’s also ideal for us as our home simply wouldn’t fit a large cat tree. This cat post features 2 playtime toys in the form of two dangling mice toys and an arched scratcher. At the top is a cosy bed for your kitten to rest. It’s soft to touch and it was really easy to put together.

Collars
Naturally, we’ll want our kitten to get used to wearing a collar and that’s why we chose these two from Pets at Home. At the time of purchasing these, they were buy one get one half price hence why we bought a kitten one and another for when our kitten is a bit bigger.

Getting your kitten used to wearing a collar is important. When they go outdoors, a collar will help you to identify your kitten plus the bell will warn birds and other wildlife of your kittens presence giving them a chance to escape so your kitten doesn’t bring you any unwanted gifts!
It’s also important to get an ID tag for your kitten in case they become lost so that they can be reunited with you.
Mikki Pet Domed Calm House – Small
It’s true that kittens can sleep anywhere. It’s been just over a week since we welcomed our kitten into our home and she’s already decided where her favourite places to sleep are. They are on top of the sideboard, under the dining table and in her Mikki Pet Domed Calm House bed.

The heatwave this week has seen her lay on top of the bed rather than inside it but I’m sure during the colder months, she’ll be snuggled up inside it!
The domed calm house from Mikki Pet provides a cosy hideaway. It’s ultra-soft faux fur is self-warming and soothing making it ideal for pets that like to curl up.
The non-slip base helps to minimise movement as the pet climbs in and out plus it’s machine washable at a low temperature. Mikki Pet has a fantastic range of pet bedding for both cats and dogs.
Nooshie Products
Nooshie is a newly founded pet brand that features lots of fantastic cat and kitten products.

We were gifted the products pictured above in exchange for a review.
The Kong Kickeroo has long been a favourite for cats. My sister has a Maine Coon cat that absolutely loves his kickeroo. As such, I was curious to see how our kitten would react to it. Well, much like my sisters cat, our kitten loves it! It has catnip inside and a long black feather that our kitten loves to chase and naturally when we let her catch her, she loves to kick at it with her back legs!

A laser pen is another firm favourite with cats and our kitten is no exception. Call me a lazy kitten owner but this Kong Laser is my personal favourite! In the evenings I can sit on the sofa and entertain our kitten from the comfort of the sofa by letting her chase the laser!

Now this play tunnel was an unexpected hit! I didn’t expect our kitten to enjoy it as much as she does! It’s crinkly material makes it noisy as she runs through it which she clearly loves! The y-shape gives her some different directions to run in and inside is a hanging ‘pom pom’ style ball.

Best of all is the hole in the top that she loves to dive in and out of and, on occasion, poke her head out of like a meerkat!

It’s also a fabulous pink colour!

Another Kong product is this cute ‘softies’ bear. Filled with catnip, it’s cute size means our kitten likes to cuddle up to it!

Along with the softies bear, we received this refillable turtle toy which comes with a tube of catnip.

The Senses Play Circuit pictured below offers a variety of different play modes. You can make it up into an ‘S’ shape as pictured on the box or a circle, as pictured further below.

We chose the circle shape as it takes up less room and our kitten enjoys trying to catch the ball and chases it around while poking her paws through the gaps.

Final Thoughts
It’s been just over a week since we welcome our kitten in our home and her favourite things to play with are definitely the cat teaser wand from Mikki Pet and the play tunnel from Nooshie. She likes to chase the stick end of the wand and absolutely loves racing through the tunnel and pouncing on it! She also loves climbing up and down the cat tree.
