Rug Doctor Carpet Cleaner Review

I was recently sent a Rug Doctor rental in order to test it out on our carpets. Cleaning carpets to me usually means giving them a hoover. However, after using the Rug Doctor, I’ve been amazed at just how dirty our carpets were!

Rug Doctor is a machine that deep cleans the carpet’s pile, whilst removing stains, dust and allergens.

Having never used anything like this before, I was a bit nervous, but there was no need for me to feel this way because the Rug Doctor is very easy to use.

The instructions are clearly written on the handle and they’re very easy to follow.

Simply remove the white tank from the unit and then fill up the red tank found in the base of the Rug Doctor unit with 150ml of Rug Doctor detergent and hot tap water.

Now all you need to do is raise the handle, turn the machine on by pressing the button on the top and off you go! You’ll need to hold down the spray button whilst using the Rug Doctor machine as this sprays out the detergent and hot water solution.

Whilst holding the handle, walk backwards slowly and let the Rug Doctor work it’s magic! As soon as I started the machine, I could see the results straight away!

I was also amazed at the colour of the water when I emptied the tank!

As you can see from the picture below, the difference the Rug Doctor makes really is amazing!

The difference is amazing!

I have to say that we’re very impressed with the Rug Doctor and will definitely be using it again!

Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner

In addition to our rental of the Rug Doctor, we were also sent a Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner.

The Portable Spot Cleaner is the solution to nightmare carpet stains. With a powerful motorised hand tool, you can quickly tackle stains deep within your carpets, car interior, upholstery and fabrics.

It’s lightweight and easy to use, plus it comes with a small bottle of spot cleaner.

I decided to use the portable spot cleaner on a blood stain at my mother-in-law’s house. Unfortunately, she had a fall a few months back and hit her head. When she landed on the carpet, it inevitably got stained with blood.

The Rug Doctor Portable Spot Cleaner is easy to use. Simply fill the clean water tank with hot tap water up to the fill line, and then add the spot cleaner up to the spot cleaner line.

Plug in, then turn on the machine before turning on the brush on the motorised handle. You then need to hold down the spray button to spray the spot cleaner and water onto the carpet. Then slowly move the brush over the stain.

As you can see from the photos below, the blood stain has been removed really well. My mother-in-law was very impressed!

Overall, I’m very impressed with both the Rug Doctor Carpet Cleaner and Portable Spot Cleaner, and I would highly recommend them both.
