Nursery School – Day Nine

September 21, 2015

Oh what a change!

Today is day nine.

Nine days that the girls have been going to nursery and it’s fair to say that they’re well and truly settled.

I asked them both yesterday if they were looking forward to nursery today and they both said yes. Not one moan about not wanting to go.

This morning they both got into their uniforms without a fuss and they got into the car without saying the dreaded ‘I don’t want to go!’

It’s amazed me how quickly they’ve settled considering they’ve never been to nursery or away from me and their dad for this long before.

I’ve taken them to play groups, but I’ve always stayed with them and they’ve always been looked after in their own home by family.

I’m so proud of them both. That they’ve both settled in so well and that they both seem to be enjoying it.

It’s a very emotional time for me! Having to let them go a little bit. Not knowing everything that they get up to is also very strange.

When they finish nursery I ask them questions such as what did they do today, did they have a snack, did they talk to any other children etc, but there’s only so much I can out of them.

M did tell me today that a girl pushed her which really pulled at my heart strings, but what can I do? I asked her if she told a teacher and she said no, so I said if it happened again to tell a teacher. It could well have just been an accident so I didn’t push the issue too much.

It’s tough and it’s been emotional, but it’s definitely been made easier by the fact that they’re settling in so well.

Aw, it's hard when they start growing up like this but they seem to be enjoying the playgroup, which must be a relief for you!

Hi Mellissa, thanks for your comment. It is hard when they're still growing up, I just can't believe how quickly they're growing up x

It's lovely to hear they're settling in now. I think sometimes it worries us more than them! I'm already scared for the school years, especially the arguing etc. Hope it's just a one off accident! Xx
