Noahs Ark Zoo Farm Review

Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm is a unique hands-on zoo and working farm just outside Bristol. Set in over 100 acres of beautiful countryside, it’s no surprise to hear that they’re one of the south west’s top tourist attractions. 
Every year they welcome 170,000 visitors. Noah’s Ark Zoo Farm offers exciting animal experiences in a family park full of adventure play grounds, tractor rides and educational exhibits. 
When we were invited to visit them for the day we couldn’t resist. We live in Cardiff so it was only a short hours drive away. 
We arrived around 10.20am which was perfect timing as they opened at 10.30am. 
The car park was pretty empty at this time, but it did fill up pretty quickly!

The walk from the car park to the entrance is short and on the way we got to see some wonderful red deers. The girls kept asking if they were Santa’s reindeers!
We handed our tickets over and were greeted by a friendly lady who explained that we could buy bird feed and animal feed in the shop. She handed us a map and off we went!
It was a pretty cold day so I’m glad that we put the girls coats and hats on, but they didn’t have gloves. Thankfully the shop sold gloves so we bought a pair for the each girls as well as some animal food.
Just ahead of the entrance is a cafe and to the right is an adventure playground featuring a Noah’s Ark. 
We headed towards Elephant Eden which took us through the bird walkthrough. 

Both the girls and I were fascinated by this Crowned Crane.
It’s such a beautiful bird and made the most bizarre trumpet sound! I caught this picture just as it was flapping it’s wings!
Also in the bird walkthrough are some ducks which the girls enjoyed feeding!
Next up we came across some Bactrian Camels. They were quite far away in the field, but the moment the girls poured some of their animal feed into the shoot which saw the food slide down into the trough the camel stood up and made it’s way towards us. 
It was pretty cool being able to get this close to a camel!
We then wandered toward Elephant Eden where the elephants were getting pretty playful with one another!

The next part was one of my favourites! The Big Cat Sanctuary. The African lions, Masai and Arusha were amazing to look at.

Arusha, the female, was alert and prowling up and down the fence. To be able to get this close was both amazing, scary and pretty intimidating when she stares into your eyes. I actually took a step back and I could hear her low growl and was a bit wary of that turning that into a full on roar!

Masai on the other hand was a bit more relaxed and seemed to enjoy his sleep! You’d be forgiven for thinking that he was a just a big, cuddly cat as he certainly looked very huggable and cute when fast asleep!

Next up were the Bengal Tigers who were also enjoying a nap!

We decided to stop for some food here as there were some picnic benches in this area and a small green area where our girls, R and M, enjoyed running around!

There were some diggers in this area too so the girls had a quick play on them!

We then headed towards the Giraffes who were a very friendly bunch as they come up to say hello right away!

We then found another play area which the girls enjoyed. There were big tyre swings and I couldn’t resist having a go myself!

Even the big kids enjoyed it!

Next up was some Llamas.

We headed back towards the cafe and got a cup of tea and a slushie drink each for the girls before heading to another play area.

I then heard an announcement that there was a tractor ride in five minutes so we headed towards the Animal Village. R wasn’t keen on going, so it was just M and I. The tractor ride was £2 each and took us around the back of the farm where we could see the crop fields, the farmhouse and the buildings where all of the hay bales were kept to feed the animals. We also had a great view of the entire farm.

The driver did warn us beforehand that it would be bumpy, but I didn’t take too much notice and let M bring her drink onboard, although I’m glad I gave my cup of tea to my husband as it was a very bumpy ride! Lots of fun though and a great view too!

 After the tractor ride we had time to see some more animals.

Overall we had a fantastic day out and I would thoroughly recommend a visit!

    Looks like such a fab day, i love the picture of the girls milking the fake cow. This zoo looks like a small fish family run kind of place. Love the look of it but a bit far for us 🙁 Thank you for linking up with #anythinggoes

    It looks like everyone really enjoyed themsleves – so many different animals and those diggers are super cool – my little man would be on those all day
