My Happy Places

September 27, 2017

Sometimes when life gets a bit too much or you just feel like you need to take a little time out to relax and de-stress, people tend to go to their ‘happy place’.

I have many different happy places. One of my favourite happy places is Roath Park in Cardiff. It’s not far from where I live and it’s one of my favourite running routes. Being able to take in the scenery of the lake, the lighthouse, and admire the swans and geese is one of my favourite past times.

Another of my happy places is a soft play centre close to where I live. Now I know most parents would probably say that soft play centres are their least favourite places to go, but when I’m feeling tired, I have to be honest, I love soft play! I can sit down with a nice of cup of tea safe in the knowledge that our girls are having a fun time playing. It’s a bit of a break for me!

When thinking about happy places I came across the infographic below called ‘Bristolians Ultimate Happy Places’ and I was pleased to see that some more of my favourite places were included.

The Roman Baths are just wonderful to visit. I like to make a night or a weekend of it and stay in one of the many serviced apartments in Bristol. That way I can make the most of my visit and enjoy an afternoon tea for two with my husband or friends and explore more of what Bristol has to offer.

I really enjoyed reading the ‘Top 10 Must-do Activities on a British Holiday’ section too. It really rang true with me. I mean is there anything better than a pub lunch or eating fish and chips at the seaside?

Our five year old twins will also agree that building sandcastles and playing rock pools is one of their favourite things to do when we visit the seaside and I can’t blame them! I must admit I quite often join too!

Do you have a happy place? I’d love to know!
