There’s nothing quite like a fresh-smelling home. When we live in the same space for a long period of time it is easy to become nose blind to any of the issues we might face. The home can become stale after a long while and we never want this to be the case, and this is why we have some handy tips for a fresh-smelling home today.

1. Essential Oil Diffusers

The best thing you can bring into the home is a fresh reed diffuser which is full of essential oils such as lemon and mint and rosemary. A reed diffuser slowly releases oils into the home to make it smell fresh and light and this can be great for the home as a whole.

2. Scented Cleaning Solution

One handy way to make the home smell clean as well as cleaning it is to make a solution of fresh-smelling vinegar. Vinegar is a wonderful ingredient for cleaning the home and it can be mixed with water and essential oils for a fresh scent. Lemon oil is a common ingredient to mix with vinegar and water, but you could also use other citrus scents such as lime or grapefruit for a similar fresh effect.

3. Fabric Spray

A lot of us don’t think about spraying our sofas and other fabrics, and this can have a knock-on effect on the scent around the house. Our fabrics become stale now and again and without a spray, they can smell sweaty and musky. You can spray your fabrics with a linen spray to keep them fresh. You can also hang throws and cushion covers outside to dry which will make them smell amazing.

4. Bin buddy

One part of the house which will always smell a little stale is the bin, but we can reduce the odour of the bin with a simple trick. All you need to do is buy some bin buddy and pour this into the bin to release fresh scents and absorb stale ones.

5. Spray the carpet

The carpets are a part of the home which doesn’t get cleaned often enough and this shows. After a long time, the footfall of family members, spills and dirt can build up and make the carpet smell stale and old. This is why it is a good idea to use a good carpet cleaner now and again to clean the carpet, and to spray the carpet with a freshener once in a while.

6. Wax Melts

Wax melts are super easy to make and they can be a handy way to keep the house smelling fresh. To make a wax melt, you can melt an old scented candle or plain wax and add drops of essential oil. Once you have done this pour wax into silicone moulds to cool. Place onto a wax melter and your home will be fresh in no time.

7. Car Air Freshener

We all love that fresh pine smell, and why should you have to stick to the rules and keep this freshener in the car? Even though made for a car, an air freshener like this can be ideal for the home to bring a subtle and clean smell to the air.

8. Let the air in

Now is the time to invest in AC Repair and make sure that you can ventilate the home in the best way. It is important for you to open windows and let air flow through to allow clean air to wash away the stale air.
