Life around baby or baby around life?

Does your life revolve around your twins? 


I have found that since the girls have started having a 90 minute nap after their lunch, that we are living our life around the girls routine. 


I don’t have a problem with this but I was wondering what other twin parents do. 


I found myself today turning down lunch with my sister because, as I said:


“The girls have a 90 minute nap after their lunch”


I did ask where my sister was going for lunch because if she was going into town, I can pop the girls in the pushchair and hope that they sleep in the pushchair but if she was going to drive to a restaurant, meaning I would have to put the girls in highchairs, that wouldn’t work as the girls would be tired and irritable. 


What do you do? How do you get around this? Please leave your thoughts and comments below, I would love to hear from other twin parents. (PLEASE!)

I started Twin Mummy and Daddy in 2012.  

Over time Twin Mummy and Daddy has gone from strength to strength. I write about our family life, my love for running and our passion for adventure and travel.  

We’ve also started living a more eco-friendly life. As such I also write about our zero waste journey in a bid to encourage others to think about the impact they have on the environment.

I’m a keen runner and in April 2019 I ran the London Marathon for an amazing charity called WellChild. It’s one of my biggest achievements to date. I raised over £2,000 for the charity and learnt so much along the way.

This year we’re passionate about spending time outdoors. We’ll be sharing our travel, days out and camping adventures right here on Twin Mummy and Daddy.

    I have 3 month old twin girls, a 21 month old busy boy, and a 7 year-old step-daughter. I find that we have to be SUPER organised to get through the day, so our routine is so important. That doesn't mean we stop doing fun stuff.. We just do it in-between or as part of our routine. So going for lunches or breakfasts, I plan it around the specific times they eat and sleep.. 🙂

      Wow, 4 children. You must be so busy! I agree 100% with you. Routine is so important to me. I'd be lost without a routine. Like you, I try to plan things around the times they sleep and eat 🙂

    I definitely need some underpinning routine but sometimes I just need to go off-piste, throw the routine out the window and enjoy unexpected opportunities.
