Is Luvanto Hard to Clean?

September 23, 2021

Many blogs will mislead on how to clean and maintain luxury vinyl flooring, some are accurate in places whilst others recommend mixing various ingredients to get the best shine.

Whilst it is always worth discussing with whoever your supplier is on any specific guidelines they may have for their particular brand, due to vinyl being more durable than other flooring options, it is best to learn what to avoid without trying everything recommended online by people who may not be experts for that brand.

Use Certain Household Items

LVT can be cleaned utilising the usual household cleaning appliances such as a regular mop, non-suction vacuum and a broom and they will not affect your flooring. Microfiber cloths and liquid cleaning solutions are also safe cleaning items.

You do need to think about certain items that could damage the surface of your flooring, especially metal bristle brushes and steel wool. Although Luvanto luxury vinyl flooring has a thicker layer and anti-scratch safeguards, it can only handle so much on its design layer.

This also means not soaking your floor with water or leaving puddles for long periods.

Care Steps Following Installation

You should resist all instinct to clean your floor straight away, especially if you have tiles just put down.

Clean away the leftover adhesive around the tiles straight away but the main bulk of the floor needs to be left for around 48 hours to set in place. This ensures no water can dislodge the work already done. From there make your first pass by dry sweeping or dust mopping for starters.

After 48 hours, use a microfiber mop and a ready to use liquid cleaner diluted with a required amount of water. Remember to rinse the mop often to do away with any contaminants. Do not apply water straight to the floor – use your cleaning products to do the work required.

Judge By Traffic

Depending on how much traffic your room gets over a day, regular cleaning is going to be a necessity to keep clean on a regular schedule. No floor looks after itself, after all.

Dry dust is easily removable with a mop or brush whilst stubborn things like dirt trampled in from outside will require a wipe and quick clean with warm soapy water.  If you have to use a scrubber then opt for non-abrasive to reduce the risk of scratching the floor design layer. Provide furniture fixings with felt pads so that scratches do not occur when they move around.

Many other things can be done to protect and maintain your vinyl differing on which brand you buy. Some suppliers may have guidebooks to help maintain the flooring that can be available when purchasing or at least have a guideline they can provide you with.

Luvanto luxury vinyl flooring is a durable product that will have its key guidelines to follow that may not suit other cheaper flooring brands. Always consult with whoever you buy your LVT from to ensure long-lasting and satisfactory durability.
