Homemade Raspberry Jam Recipe
I wrote a post a while ago about how I took our girls fruit picking for the first time. We had a really good time and I decided that I really wanted to return when they had a bit more fruit.
A short while ago we did indeed return and we picked an abundance of fruit! My husband came with us and armed with two large baskets and two plastic punnets we picked and picked and picked some more!
Raspberries were plentiful, as were blueberries and we even managed a few strawberries.
With all this fruit I decided to make jam! Raspberry jam, strawberry jam and blueberry jam! You could of course mix all three together and make a simple berry jam, but I like the individual tastes of each fruit.
In this post I’ll show you how to make your very own raspberry jam. It’s very simple and easy, plus you don’t need any special equipment, just a saucepan and some jam jars!
Ingredients
750g Raspberries
300g Caster Sugar
100ml water
Method
Wash and remove stalks then place the raspberries into a pan with the 100ml of water and bring to the boil
Simmer for 10 minutes stirring frequently
Add the sugar and stir until dissolved
Boil for an additional 15 minutes
Carefully transfer into airtight jam jars and leave to cool
Once cool pop the lid on – making sure it’s airtight – and pop in the fridge to thicken
Jam made this way can be kept for up to two months in the fridge.

I bring my children blackberry picking this time every year, it's a lovely activity to enjoy with them. That's an impressive haul you and your family picked and that jam looks delicious 🙂 #toddlersandteens

I've never made jam, I've always frankly been a bit scared too, but one day I'll try. You make it look easier than I thought! #ToddlersandTeens
