Gotrovo Mealtime Treasure Hunt Review

Gotrovo is a pretty well known treasure hunt game. In fact we already own it and it’s lots of fun. The people behind Gotrovo have created a new product. The Gotrovo Mealtime Treasure Hunt.

Suitable for children aged three and over, it’s a perfect treasure hunt dinner set and tool for encouraging healthy eating and good table behaviour.

I really like the dinner mat as it’s designed like a map. It’s double sided so children can choose what side they want to use that day.

The treasure hunt consists of a ten-step treasure trail, snaking around two beautifully designed dinner mats. As your child eats their meal, they use the golden coin to move forward around the trail. Once your child reachrs the end of the trail they can remove their plate or bowl to reveal your chosen reward card.

It sounds like a great idea for children who need a little encouragement at mealtimes. I absolutely love the design of the plate, bowl and cup. It’s appealing to children, and I love the chosen shade of blue.

The plate is lightweight, and so is the bowl and cup. Perfect for little hands.

I really like the ‘shovel’ and fork cutlery! It’s a super cute, well thought out design and my girls love them!

This set has been designed flexibly to allow you to work with your child in a positive way, to encourage and reward good eating and mealtime behaviour. I really like that there is no ‘rule’ as to how or when they move the coin forward because as parents we know what will work best for our children.

It might be as simple as moving a step for each mouthful eaten, but if you’re stuck for ideas the leaflet included has a handy ‘more ideas’ section.

I mentioned above that you also get 10 reward cards. These are small square shaped cards which allow you to praise and reward your child.

You could hide five of the reward star cards to allow your child to collect stars throughout the week and earn a fun reward at the end or you might allow your child to choose their own reward using the ‘You Choose’ card.

There are so many ways in which you can use the reward cards. Not only that, but this mealtime treasure hunt is also a great learning opportunity. Children can recognise the numbers on the map or develop more complex skills as directions .
