Exotic Family Holidays
Why are so many families looking for more exotic holidays? Growing up I remember the majority of my friends would spend a week or two of the summer holidays in Spain or perhaps Greece. Much like my own childhood family holidays.
I do always remember one friend of mine however who would go on safari in Africa and trips to Egypt and Mexico. I used to think that her family must be very wealthy to be able to go to places like that. After all, we only ever did a week in Spain. Sometimes, we’d stay in the UK and go camping which was always fun, but a safari? Wow!
Times have certainly changed since those days and it does appear that more and more families are opting to go all out by travelling to more exotic destinations, and it needn’t be as expensive as you might initially think.
You can actually get some pretty good deals if you plan carefully enough. By booking a good year in advance you can save yourself a small fortune. That also goes the other way too. A last minute adventure can be just as cheap as a well planned adventure in the future. It’s all about keeping your eyes peeled for the best deals. I find it helps to sign up to a few different holiday and tourist companies newsletters. That way you can have the latest information sent straight to your inbox.
One place that I’ve often fancied going is Cancun. This Mexican city is on the Yucatan Peninsula which borders the Caribbean Sea. Cancun is probably best know for its beaches, resorts and nightlife. By taking a taxi transfer from Cancun airport you can arrive at your hotel in no time at all and be ready to get out and explore all it has to offer.
There are so many things to do and see in Cancun. From relaxing on the beach to enjoying the culinary choices available at the numerous eateries. Did you know there’s also an underwater sculpture park where more than 500 life-sized monuments have been installed on the seabed in an attempt to marry art and nature! How amazing does that sound!
Another place I’ve often thought about visiting is India. Family holiday travelling India is gaining popularity. Much like Cancun, India has a vast array of amazing sights to offer tourists and there are plenty of things to do in India with kids. From riding a tuk-tuk around the architectural ruins of Hampi, watching the sunrise over the Taj Mahal to riding camels through the deserts of Jaisalmer. There’s so much to do that and you’ll come home with amazing memories that will last a lifetime.
One of the best things that I ever did was get an Instax camera. Whenever we go anywhere, whether it be camping, a festival or holiday abroad etc, I always bring the Instax camera with us so that we can add to our family travels scrapbooks. Our children love sticking the photos in and writing alongside them all about our adventures. It’ll make a great keepsake for them when they’re older.
