February 26, 2014

The MAD blog awards is the UK’s biggest and brightest awards for Mum and Dad bloggers. Now in it’s fifth year, the MAD Blog Awards are the perfect opportunity to celebrate the very best of those blogs you love reading.

There is a total of 15 categories in which bloggers can be nominated in. This is then narrowed down to five bloggers in each category.

Why should you vote for us?

We started blogging in June 2012 after the birth of our twins. Our little piece of the internet our my way of trying to help other people who were either en route to having IVF and also for those who currently going through IVF.

We wanted to create a friendly online platform where we could share our experiences of our IVF journey. A place where people can read our personal ups and downs and exactly what IVF entails. How we felt, the procedures, side effects and everything else that goes hand in hand with all of that.

As our blog has grown over the last few years, I wanted to be able to share other peoples experiences of IVF too.

Reading factual information in leaflets and online helps when having IVF, but there is nothing like hearing about it from someone who has been through it. Personal accounts from those who have come out of the other end, with either a positive or negative result, can help others during this emotional time and I hope that our blog provides a place where you can learn about IVF and also share the experience with others.

In addition to this, we recently launched our own You Tube channel. The reason for this is so that we can share our personal videos of our twins in special care. Not because we want our 15 minutes of fame, but because many expectant parents will end up with their baby in special care and until you have been in a special care unit and experienced it for yourself nothing can truly prepare you.

We hope that our videos will go a little way in doing just that and of course we hope they will provide you with hope and reassurance. As I am writing this post, our twins will be two years old in two days time. I never thought that day would come. From small angels to strong little ladies.

In between writing about IVF, we also share our everyday lives and write the occasional crafty or messy play post.

Before I bore you anymore, I will just mention on one last note that we are on a fundraising mission to raise £2,000 for Bliss the Baby Charity and £2,000 for Cancer Research UK.

I hope you enjoy reading our blog and if you do, why not throw a nomination our way?! It won’t take long! You can click here to nominate us.
