Disneyland Paris Trip Report Day 1

It’s hard to believe that two weeks ago we were in Disneyland Paris.

I  booked our trip rather spur of the moment last October and remember thinking that it was ages away. Well, now I wish I was back there because the time we had there has flown by!

We stayed in the Disneyland Hotel which was absolutely amazing! I knew before booking our trip, that if we were going to go to Disneyland, then we had to do it properly and stay in the Disney Hotel!

It was everything I thought it would be and more! More on the hotel later!

After doing a lot of research, (and I mean a lot of research!), I finally felt confident enough to book our trip. If you’re thinking of going to Disneyland Paris, then I would highly recommend joining the Facebook group, Disneyland Paris for Brits. Everyone in the group is friendly and helpful, plus they’re very knowledgeable.

Booking a trip to Disneyland Paris is nothing like booking an all inclusive holiday to Spain! You need to do a lot of planning, research and even book your meals 60 days in advance.

I booked our trip for Monday to Friday, but I knew that I wanted to make the most of our time in Disneyland, so I decided to book our flights separately and also one day early. This meant that we flew from our local airport in Cardiff on Sunday and arrived in Paris the same day. I booked the Kyriad hotel for the one night.

When we arrived at the airport, I had arranged for a private transfer to the Kyriad hotel. This took just 30 minutes. When we arrived, we checked in, dropped our luggage off in our room and jumped on the free shuttle bus to Disneyland.

I found out from the Facebook group that I would be able to check into the Disneyland Hotel a day early meaning that I could get all of our meal vouchers, fast passes and more importantly our easy pass which would give us access to the Disneyland Park from 8am!

After getting all of our vouchers, we headed back to the Kyriad hotel for the night.

The following morning we were up bright and early. We ordered a taxi to take us straight to the main entrance of the Disneyland Hotel, as we didn’t fancy lugging our suitcases onto the free shuttle bus.

When we arrived at the Disneyland Hotel, the concierge greeted us as we exited the taxi and took our suitcases from us. They informed us that our cases would be delivered to our room as soon as it was ready.

This was great as it meant we could go straight into the park! However, before we did this, we were told that Goofy was outside the restaurant, Inventions, inside the Disney Hotel, so we made a detour to see Goofy on our way into the park.

There was no queue so our girls went straight up and we all met Goofy, got him to sign our autograph books and had our photo taken.

We then headed into the Disneyland Park and saw Goofy again, but he was with Pluto. We decided to queue up so that we could meet Pluto and get his autograph too.

M was a bit hesitant about meeting the characters at first, but she soon got into the swing of things! R was chuffed that Goofy held her hand and tried to wander off with her!

After meeting Goofy and Pluto we wandered up Main Street toward the castle. I love that there was music playing everywhere you went outside! It makes Disneyland so magical! Not only that, but the whole place smells magical too!

On our way up Main Street we spotted a water fountain so took the opportunity to fill up our water bottles before heading into the castle.

I remember the castle from when I went to Disneyland as a child, and it was just was magical and splendid as I remembered! Our girls were in awe of the Castle. It’s quite a magnificent sight!

We wandered up the stairs and admired the brightly coloured stain glass windows which shows the story of Aurora (Sleeping Beauty).

We then headed back out into the main park behind the castle. We went on the carousel, wandered around the shops, went on the Mad Hatters tea cup ride, as well as the flying Dumbo ride. On the way back to have lunch we found Cinderella’s carriage so we had a photo in front of it!

We then made our way back to the restaurant, Inventions, in the Disney Hotel for lunch with the characters which was so much fun! Our girls met lots of characters including Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

We then headed back to our room so that the girls could have a nap and we could unpack our suitcases.

After a nap, we headed over the Studios for Buffalo Bills Wild West Show. This a dinner show like no other! We had great seats, and were all given free cowboy hats to wear during the show and to take home with us.

Food was served to us whilst we watched Buffalo Bill, Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Chip ‘n’ Dale and other characters put on a fantastic cowboy themed show.

The food was great and the show was amazing!

After a very busy and tiring first day, we headed back to the hotel for a much needed sleep before we did it all over again the next day!
