Diet Chef. Week 2 Results
After last weeks amazing 7lb loss I wondered whether I would see any weight loss this week.
I’ve decided not to tell you what I’ve been eating every day because a lot of the food is pretty much the same as last week, but anything I haven’t written about before I will share with you.
Following on from last weeks post a few people left some comments asking what to do about eating out and that they thought Diet Chef was expensive.
With regard to eating out Diet Chef advise to just eat normally. Obviously I would take this to mean sensibly, but if you did eat a little too much I wouldn’t worry too much as you can always continue as you mean to go on the following day.
I’ve been finding the breakfast and lunch options my favourite meals. For me breakfast is an important part of the day and if I didn’t eat it, I would snack all day and most likely this would mean that I would be hungry all day.
Before Diet Chef lunch on a work day would consist of me grabbing a croissant and sugary drink on the way into work and during days at home I’d usually have toast or cereal. Sometimes though I would miss breakfast.
The thing that I love about Diet Chef breakfasts is that they’re quick and easy. The porridge is available in a great of flavours. My favourite is the porridge with strawberries.
All you need to do is empty the contents of the sachet into a bowl, add 120ml of milk and then pop in the microwave for two minutes. This is easy for me to do at home and in work, though I’ve been saving the porridge for workdays as when I’m home I tend to have less time to eat.
When I am in a rush I can grab a breakfast cookie, usually chocolate, and I tend to have one with yoghurt and fruit.
Lunchtime again provides a good deal of variety. From the items that I ordered I can chose either a pasta or cous cous pot. These are easy to prepare. Just add boiling hot water to the fill line, cover with the lid and leave for five minutes.
I tend to add the cous cous to a salad tortilla, but they can be eaten straight from the pot if you’re on the go.
You can also chose to have soup or a protein bar for lunch. The soups are tasty and filling. For someone who usually likes to have a meal for lunch I found that the protein bars were just as filling as a meal.
Dinner for me is where I feel some of the meals lack variety. For someone who doesn’t eat beef, I’ve found that most of the meals such as the curry’s and Chinese type meals (sweet and sour etc) can be become a bit boring. It means I eat rice with most of these meals as I’m not a massive fan of chips.
Aside from the curry’s you can chose pasta meals and chicken dishes which you can have with vegetables.
A new meal this week was the macaroni cheese pasta.
The meals are delicious and flavoursome though I do think this diet isn’t very family friendly as you would need to prepare a separate meal for your children/husband etc.
With regard to the cost of Diet Chef I would be most likely to opt for an 8 week plan. This costs £195 a month, which can be broken down as £48.75 a week. I don’t think that’s out of the way considering our weekly food shop is around £100. The only extra’s you’d need to buy is rice, potatoes, vegetables, fruit and yoghurts.

Amazing – you looked fab at the wedding so it has all paid (not that you need to diet anyway) x Ax

The pasta and cous cous meals sound very nice. We feed a family of 6 for around £100 a week so this is out of our budget but would be good for a kick start to a diet as a one off. #binkylinky
