Brilliant Mum Feature

This week our brilliant mum feature is Kelly Allen who blogs at Kelly Allen Writer. Kelly lives in the wonderful city of Cardiff. I might be a bit biased as that’s also where I live! Kelly lives with her husband (Warren) and two children (George and Molly), and their dog Ziggy! Kelly is a a blogger and her children are home educated. Kelly loves going to the theatre, reading books and crafting.

Thanks for taking part Kelly!

Have you always wanted to be a mum?

No, I resisted marriage and parenting until I fell head over heels in love with Warren!

How did you feel when your children were born?

I think I was in shock the first time. George was back to back and the pain was beyond anything I’d experienced before. It was definitely a shock to the system having our first… Then when Molly came along we had two under 2 and that was another learning curve haha!

What have been your most rewarding experiences so far as a mum?

Seeing them grown into kind, empathetic little humans.

What are some of your funniest moments to have happened to you as a mum?

George locking me out of the house and me having to climb through a window to get back in! He was 2, Molly 7 months old! Also projectile pooping happened a lot during the early years.

Have there been any situations with your children that you have found difficult to cope with?

Only when another adult has created this situation. A lot of people are quite rude and impatient with kids, then the lioness rises!

What are your dreams and hopes for your children?

That they’re happy and will always be happy.
