For the purpose of this blog post I was provided with some MadeGood snack bars and compensated for my time. All views and opinions are 100% my own.
As another school term is upon us, one mum makes an exciting new discovery that’s about to change school lunch boxes forever! Read on to find out more!
As Sunday evening drew to a close, I wandered into the kitchen. The sound of our children sleeping peacefully from within the comfort of their beds drifted down the hallway.
The kitchen lit up from the light of the fridge and I stared into the abyss of a pretty dull looking fridge.
A half opened pack of ham lay on the shelf alongside the butter and a packet of chicken skewers.
A rather sorry looking bag of salad sat on the shelf underneath. The milk in the fridge door neighboured a carton of orange juice and above that six eggs sat waiting patiently for their turn in the frying pan.
“Hmmm” I thought to myself. “What should the children’s lunch boxes be filled with this week?”
As I stood in the kitchen with my back to the window I caught a glimpse of something colourful stood up right alongside the fruit bowl.

Like a tower of healthy goodness, I read the words written on the boxes that stood so tall in front of me. “MadeGood”. The ‘O’s linked together like good friends linking arms.
I shut the fridge and with delight I opened a box of MadeGood snack bars.
The sound of the box opening caused a stir from within the darkness, and two small shadows appeared.
“Mummy” they said. “I want one of those in my lunch box for school! Please, mummy please!”
I turned to the second small shadow who smiled and said, “Me too! Please! No soggy cucumber sticks or flapjacks that taste like cardboard! We want something tasty!”
“Something healthy!”
“Please Mummy” the voices chanted in unison!
“ENOUGH”, I said, and without further ado I took out one chocolate banana MadeGood granola bar followed by a mixed berry MadeGood granola bar and placed them into the children’s lunch boxes.
“Thank you mummy” they said whilst retreating back to the comfort of their beds.
Before long the sound of the children sleeping started and all was well again.
The following day after school, the children came bounding out full of energy and smiles.
“Those MadeGood snack bars are perfect for our ‘back to school lunch boxes mummy!”
“They are aren’t they” I said. “They’re free from the most common allergens so they’re safe for you to eat in school, on the playground, at clubs, anywhere in fact where your friends might have food allergies. They’re also a great source of vitamins with six different sources of vegetables in each bar. They’re also Organic and vegan too!”
“Wow” said the children. “We must tell our friends!”
The End
Based on a true story, I can confirm that the above actually happened and yes, we’ve discovered MadeGood snack bars. Of course, some creative licence did play a part, but for the most part that’s how I recall that fateful Sunday evening!

As stated above MadeGood snack bars are:
- Allergy friendly – Free from nuts, peanuts, egg, soy, dairy & gluten
- Organic
- Vegan

MadeGood is the UK’s first ever, totally allergen free granola snack bar that is safe for kids to eat in schools and is packed full of essential vitamins to keep them going and healthy! They even taste great, making each bar a perfect lunchbox treat or snack for everyone.

Launching with three flavours, the range will include the following flavours:
- Mixed Berry
- Chocolate Chip
- Chocolate Banana

We recently went on a day trip to Mountain View Ranch and took some MadeGood bars with us. Mountain View Ranch is a massive outdoor ranch with a Gruffalo Trail, Fairy Forest and lots more exciting things for children to explore. I took this as an opportunity to capture some fun photos of the MadeGood bars!

As well as being the perfect back to school snack, they’re also great to take with you for days out. After spending four hours at the ranch, the MadeGood bars were a well earned treat!

R’s favourite flavour is mixed berry. Packed full of tart cranberries and raspberries, sweet blueberries and toasted gluten free oats, these granola bars taste like a luscious berry crumble on a warm summer night.

The berries are full of antioxidants, which are great for your nervous system. They also contact oat bran which is believed to lower LDL (bad cholesterol). In addition they’re slow to digest which means they’ll keep you fuller for longer.

M’s favourite flavour is chocolate banana. It tastes just like a dessert and contains all the nutrients in one full serving of vegetables. This mix of rich dark chocolate and ripe bananas really is perfect for satisfying your sweet tooth!

They’re great for grown ups too. I have a nut allergy, and quite often I’ll pick up a snack bar that looks great only to then discover it contains nuts or traces of nuts. I also really like that all MadeGood ingredients are ethically sourced.

Our girls like to have their MadeGood snack bars in school as a deliciously healthy, tasty and filling snack. They’re also great for in between mealtimes when those little tummies start to rumble and of course for when the children get home from school and are impatiently waiting for their dinner to cook!

We’re very impressed with MadeGood snack bars. They’re a great source of fibre, vitamins and minerals, which can help contribute to a healthy digestive and immune system.

MadeGood snack bars are available in ASDA stores across the UK now. Each box contains 6 x 24g bars and costs £2.79 RRP.
