Book Review: Million Love Songs

This year, I’ve re-discovered my love of reading.
Some of the books I’ve read have been disappointing, but most have been enjoyable.
My favourite book of 2018 is Million Love Songs by Carole Matthews.
The description on the back of the book reads as follows:
Ruby Brown is ready for a change.
She’s single for the first time in years and she’s going to dive into this brave new world with a smile on her face and a spring in her step. The last thing she’s looking for is a serious relationship.
Mason represents everything Ruby wants right now: he’s charming, smooth and perfect for some no-strings-attached fun. Joe on the other hand is kind and attractive, but comes with the sort of baggage Ruby wants to avoid: an annoyingly attractive ex-wife and two teenage children.

It has friendship, comedy, love, sex, drama, Paris, heartbreak and Take That! What more could a book offer?!
The main character, Ruby Brown, is recently divorced, works as a waitress with her best friend, Charlie, and is looking for some fun.
She meets her boss, Mason Soames, who is a young, free, single, handsome and wealthy man. He’s outrageously flirty, has no shame and takes a liking to Ruby. Despite being warned him off by best friend, Charlie, Ruby, ignores her friends advice and decides she’s a grown up and if she wants to have some no strings fun attached fun with Mason then so be it!
Aside from Mason, Ruby decided that she wanted to do something for herself and signed up for diving lessons. Probably not the best idea she’s ever had, but it does lead to her meeting Joe. A family man, recently separated from his wife, and very attractive.
Without giving away too much, we follow Ruby’s life, including all the ups and downs of dating, friendship and heartbreak.
A truly funny, witty, really well written book that’s easy to read, and will leave you wanting to read ‘just one more chapter’ each time you come to the end of a chapter!
