Review: Personalised Watch & Notebook from Happiness Is A Gift #ADGIFTED

I have a confession to make. When it comes to stationary I’m a bit of a hoarder. I have an ever growing collection of beautiful notebooks that sit on my bedroom dressing table. I absolutely adore them. Just looking at them makes me smile! There’s just something so satisfying about the feel and look of an unused notebook. It’s a blank canvas that’s just inviting you to start something amazing. Perhaps a love letter, poem or a best selling novel! Happiness is a Gift recently sent me an exquisite, personalised, natural tan leather notebook. It arrived beautifully presented in a… [Read More]

2019: The Year of Family Camping Holidays

As per the title of this post, 2019 is going to be the year that we as a family will embrace camping! I have fond memories of camping when I was a child. I remember my parents having a practise run in the garden of putting the tent up, taking it down and packing it all away again. In all fairness it was a lovely big tent. I don’t recall how long it took to put up. My sister and I were probably off playing and running around whilst out parents took on the tent building challenge! I don’t even… [Read More]

Making a quilt from baby clothes

One of the things that I’ve promised myself this year is to do more of the things that I enjoy. For example, I want to read more books, get back into sewing and spend a little less time online and more time focusing on myself and doing the things I love. So far things have been going well. I’ve managed to find the time to blog on the days that I work, usually in the evenings or straight after work before I pick our girls up from school. This means that on my days off I can do other things…. [Read More]

My Running Playlist for the London Marathon 2019

Lots of people who run listen to music. I can’t imagine running without music. It helps me to get in the zone, takes my mind off how far I have to go, and it helps me to run faster. I’ve tried running without music, but I just find I run better with it. Plus I can’t stand listening to my heavy breathing! Over the past few months I’ve put together a running playlist made up of my favourite songs that really help motivate me when I run. Some of them are classics, some of them you may think of as… [Read More]

London Marathon Training Update

In just 90 days, I’ll be taking on my biggest challenge ever! The London Marathon! Having successfully completed two half marathons, a marathon just seemed like the next logical challenge. I signed up for the London Marathon ballot, but sadly didn’t get a ballot place. However, I was very lucky that in April 2018 I found out that I had been successful in gaining a charity place with WellChild, The National Charity for Sick Children. With a fundraising target of £1,600 and having to train properly for the marathon, I knew it wasn’t going to be easy, but what challenge… [Read More]
