Getting the family outdoors

This summer my husband and I have decided that we’d like to try and make a really big effort to spend more time outdoors as a family. There are so many benefits to spending time outdoors such as better mental health and reduced stress levels. We have so many ideas as to how we can encourage the whole family outdoors. The first thing we’re doing is ditching the car on the school run when we can and walking instead. Naturally this is better for the environment for lots of different reasons, but it’s also better for us. It means we… [Read More]

Everything you need to know about reusable sanitary pads

In a bid to reduce our single use plastic, I’ve switched from disposable sanitary pads to reusable sanitary pads. These are better for the environment, more comfortable than disposables and they’re so easy to use. Before I made the switch I had lots of questions about reusable sanitary pads. Trying to find answers was tough. That’s why I thought I’d write my own little guide about my experience, in addition to how to use, store and wash your reusable pads. I’ve also put together a video which may also be of use. Types of reusable sanitary pads First up we’ll… [Read More]

My Favourite LUSH Products

I’m pretty new to using LUSH products. Over the last few years, I’ve been gifted the odd bath bomb, and I always buy my daughters a bath bomb or two each for Christmas and their birthday, but bath bombs were usually all that I bought. However, after a recent trip to LUSH in a bid to explore the world of shampoo and conditioner bars in order to reduce the amount of single use plastic we use as a family, I discovered that LUSH offer much more than just bath bombs. After asking a staff member for advice regarding shampoo and… [Read More]

London Marathon Training Update

It’s been a little while since I updated you on my training for the London Marathon so I thought I’d put another update post together. In my last update I wrote how I’d managed to injure my ankle, but thankfully everything is all healed now and I’m back on track. The London Marathon is just over five weeks away and I’m feeling very optimistic. My longest run to date is 18 miles and thankfully that went well. It’s a strange thing to think that I’m actually able to run such a long distance, but the training and nutrition has definitely… [Read More]
