Booking a holiday abroad is pretty exciting. Before my husband and I had children we went on lots of overseas trips. From weekend breaks to Rome, Barcelona, Prague and Valencia to the more exotic destination of Marrakech. I think it’s fair to say that my husband and I have had our fair share of holidays!
Now that we have children we still enjoy our holidays, but they’re more the all inclusive, beach front type of holiday! We’ve also been to Disneyland Paris twice which is absolutely amazing! I’d love to go back again one day!
Of course going abroad can be expensive. This year we’ve opted for staycations. We’re going camping soon so that should be lots of fun! I used to love camping when I was growing up!
Next year, we’re looking at camping abroad but we’d like to do it on a budget. I’ve been doing some research into holidays on a budget and thought I’d share some of my money saving tips with you!
Airport Parking
Airport parking can be pretty expensive, but did you know you can now use a comparison website to find the best deal? Parkhero is a recently launched airport car parking comparison platform. Their aim is to shake up the market by providing customers with great value prices and user-friendly website design.
The platform allows travellers to compare different airport parking providers and find the cheapest deals for their trip. There is no booking fee and the website is clear and easy to use.
Choose your Airport Wisely
While you may think flying from your local airport is the best option, you may be surprised to learn that if you’re willing to travel a little further afield you may well get a better price on your airfare.
Although I live in Cardiff, we quite often fly from different airports because the price of flights is cheaper. We’ll quite often fly from Manchester airport and look online for deals for parking at Manchester Airport. Of course, if you’re travelling from an airport further away from home, you’ll have to factor in travel costs to and from the airport.
Be Flexible with your Flight Time
Although it’s appealing to book a flight that’s at a sociable hour such as 12pm, it can often be cheaper to fly at an unsociable hour. By being as flexible as possible with your flights, it’s possible to save money on the price of your flight. This also applies to the day you travel. The majority of travellers will fly to their destination on a Monday. Why not look for a mid-week or Saturday night flight? Chances are it’ll be cheaper than that mid-day Monday flight!
