School uniform is worn in over 90% of schools in England and this is because it offers a number of benefits to children, parents and teachers. 

I have collaborated with an Independent School in Somerset to explore some of these benefits below…

Improves safety

One of the most important reasons why schools require children to wear a uniform is safety. A school uniform offers protection because it helps teachers to easily identify school students. This is particularly helpful on a school trip or if an intruder enters the school grounds. School uniform also protects children from acts of crime such as stealing desirable clothing or jewellery.

Supports learning
