Hindsight is a funny thing, isn’t it? Defined as the understanding of a situation or event only after it has happened or developed, it often brings us a new way of thinking.
Who would have ever thought that we would be where we are now? Whether that’s working from home in our pyjamas, homeschooling our children or perhaps even being furloughed.
It definitely feels very surreal. Even now, almost one year since the start of the Covid pandemic, it still hasn’t sunk in and I think that’s because I still have some level of normality in my life.
Yes, life has changed considerably for a lot of us in the last year. I was furloughed in the summer of 2020, and I’m now working from home.
Other people however haven’t been so lucky. I wrote a blog post back in February 2019 called ‘2019: The Year of Family Camping Holidays‘. That was our plan for the year 2019. Shortly after writing that blog post, we had our tent, cooking equipment, sleeping bags and everything else we needed to go on a camping adventure. We carried on with our plans to camp in 2020 and booked another campsite and then all of a sudden all of our plans were taken away from us.
Sadly, although for very good reason, those travel restrictions are still in place in the UK.
However, that doesn’t stop me from being optimistic and looking to the future. Camping is something that we, as a family of four, have only just started to explore and enjoy. From our limited experience, I think it’s fair to say that we’ve all fallen in love with camping. Even if our last trip was very wet and windy!
Choosing a 4 Berth Motorhome
With that in mind, my thoughts have turned towards the possibility of investing in a motorhome. Travelling as a family of four, I would choose a 4 berth motorhome (FYI, a berth is a bed space).
Bailey of Bristol has a range of motorhomes available on their website. Motorhomes also have different numbers of travel seats. When looking for the perfect motorhome for us, I need to ensure that I choose one that has enough travel seats and berths for our needs. For example, sometimes extra people will travel in a different vehicle to the motorhome which is why you can get a 4 berth motorhome with 2 travel seats.

Benefits of buying a motorhome
There are many benefits to buying a motorhome. They instantly give you the freedom to explore without having to worry about booking a hotel. In addition, you can bring a lot more of your belongings with you as you’ll have the extra space of the motorhome in comparison to a family car.
We’d really like a motorhome so that we can explore more of our home country, Wales. Of course, when travel restrictions are lifted that is.
