Activities for Kids Booklet – Perfect for a Rainy Day!
One of the most difficult things for me about being a parent is trying to keep children entertained on a rainy day.
There’s only so much Lego, crafting and Play-Doh that a parent can take!
Stuff4work have created this lovely ‘Activities for Kids‘ booklet. It’s free to download and has some great activities for children to work through.
There’s colour by numbers, which was one of my favourites when I was growing up! For younger children you can give them a helping hand by highlighting the key with the corresponding colour and then helping your child to match the number with the colour in the picture.
One of the great things about this booklet is that it’s fun, but also helps children with their learning. The letter matching sheet is really good. My twins love activities like this. They usually have books which have a picture of an animal on one side and their shadow on the other side and then they have to draw a line between the animal and it’s shadow. The letter matching activity is the same principal except you have to match the letters up.
There’s also a pretty cool octopus holding a number ‘8’ because he has eight legs. Children will love colouring him and all of his legs in! Plus mummy and daddy can help out too and colour the bubbles or the sea in!
Letter recognition is an important of children’s development so this letter colouring activity is educational too. Before colouring in the letter, why not see if your child can write the letter ‘A’. Maybe they could start off by drawing the lines inside of the letter itself.
You can also help your child with the sounds. The picture alongside the letter of the apple will help children learn what sound ‘A’ makes.
This one is probably more suited for older children. Our twins are three so may not get the hang of this one, but of course mummy and daddy can help!
Who doesn’t love a dot to dot activity?!
The next activity is perfect for Halloween as it features some spiders! Can your child help the baby spider reach mummy spider? A great activity for helping children with their pencil control.
Last, but not least this fun counting activity will encourage children to have fun with numbers. Can they count how many flowers there are? Can they count how many have two leaves and have many have one leaves?
I’ve printed off two copies off these booklets form my girls and I’m sure they’ll enjoy them. Unfortunately we don’t have a stapler to hold them together, so I used some pipe cleaners and also made a cute carry handle so they’re perfect for on the go!

This looks great, will definitely be taking a look! My daughter is probably a bit little but loves colouring and like you say theres only so much playdough playing you can take in a day!! 🙂
