A Pug’s Christmas

I love Christmas adverts! When I spot the first one on TV I know it’s officially the festive season! We all have our favourites when it comes to festive TV adverts and as a glasses wearer I have to admit that Vision Direct’s take on the Christmas advert is pretty good!

Featuring a young boy and his pet pug, Gizmo, who by the way is super cute, this advert starts with the traditional Silent Night Christmas carol playing in the background. A white front door is shown, followed by some adorable photos of the young boy and Gizmo.

Sat on the floor in the hallway we see Gizmo who is waiting for the young boy to return from school. It’s clear to see that Gizmo and the young boy have a unique, special bond, but something keeps getting in the way of the Gizmo being able to fully enjoy the Christmas season and that’s his glasses.

They break as the he tries to get through the door of his dog flap, yet the young boy perseveres and tapes them back together again. When playing with a ball outdoors, they frost up so that Gizmo can’t see and even when sat together on the sofa, the glasses struggle to stay on his head. Aw, poor Gizmo!

Eventually, Vision Direct step in to help and come to the rescue with the help of their contact lenses! This is the first ever Christmas campaign for Vision Direct and it’s pretty good in my opinion. They worked closely with Bespoke Film and Communications to ensure that their first Christmas advert would be something everyone enjoyed.
