On the fifth day of Christmas – A Christmas Craft
Crafts are great for rainy days when all you want to do is wrap up warm, stay indoors and relax. Crafts can be quite relaxing and therapeutic too. That is, unless you have kids involved!
In the run up to Christmas we have been doing quite a lot of craft activities. Here are a few of my favourites:
Christmas Tree Photo Frame Decorations
We were sent this craft activity by Baker Ross. The reason this is one of my favourite festive craft activities is because they make great gifts for family friends, plus they’re super easy to make with children.
Everything you need is included in the kit. The only thing you’ll need to do is find some photos so put into the frames.
I came up with this idea myself. I bought some foam star shapes from my local pound shop, along with some buttons, glitter pens and other crafty bits. It’s also an idea to have some ribbon to hand so that you can use this to create a loop to hang the decoration from.
I like this activity because children are free to unleash their creativity. They can decorate the stars in any way that they want too.
Hand Puppets
The last craft activity that I’m going to mention is one that I came across after attending a ‘crafternoon’ event with Jacdo.
The hand puppets are really easy to make, but would probably require a bit of adult help depending no the age of your children. Everything we needed to make these puppets were included in the kits we were given and I liked that the holes were already cut into the felt so that meant less work for the children and as a result made it easier for them to do.
They just needed to thread the needle and pull the wool through the holes to join the two pieces together. Once this was done it was just a simple case of sticking on the stickers to make the faces.

I love the picture frames! Me and E love to get crafty on rainy days. He will be getting some new craft bits for Christmas x

Some fab ideas. I love the stars. We always had a big tin full of buttons when I was a kid and we used to sew them onto scraps of material to make pictures.

I loved making Christmas cards and decorations with my son when he was younger. Baker Ross have some great materials for crafts.
