Tulin Peshtemal Review from Luks Linen

October 10, 2016

A peshtemal is an authentic flat woven Turkish towel with a hand tied fringe, generally made with Turkish cotton.

Luks Linen recently sent me one to review and I love it! Luks Linen is a purveyor of ethically made, hand woven, home and lifestyle wares. The peshtemal is its hero product. It’s an endlessly versatile traditional Turkish towel originally woven for use in hamams.

Peshtemals can be used as a towel, blanket, scarf, cover up and more! They’re an eco-friendly alternative to traditional towels using less water and space in the washing machine.

I was recently sent this beautiful tulin peshtemal to review.

I love the colour. The mix of creams and browns means that this already versatile piece can be worn with any outfit or displayed anywhere in your home. It’s super soft which makes it feel even more luxurious!

The luxury dot and diamond weave pattern is subtle, but detailed and eye catching at the same time.

I like to wear mine as a scarf, but I also like to use it as a blanket in the evenings to keep me warm. It’s also perfect for the bath, beach, camping, sports and more!

You could use it as a sarong or even as a throw for a single bed. It’s 100 x 170 cm in size so it’s a fairly generous size.

The good thing about these peshtemals is that more you wash them the softer they become! They even come with a 20 year repair or replacement guarantee!

The peshtemal is finished with a beautiful knotted fringe. Luks Linen only work with small friendly ateliers and artisans who have been hand looming for generations, using locally produced, natural materials.

They believe that less is more and craftsmanship is king. This is why they nurture partnerships with suppliers and retailers that share their values which in turn helps them to sustain, create and supply beautiful, long lasting products.

Available for £30.00 which is a very good price in my opinion considering the quality of the product, these peshtemals are perfect for the upcoming winter season. The best thing is that when summer comes back around again, there’s no need to pack your peshtemal away as you can use it all year round!

Overall, a great product, excellent quality and I love it!

For the purpose of this review we were sent one peshtemal. All views and opinions are 100% my own.
