Shimmer and Shine Toy Review

February 27, 2017

To celebrate the launch of the new Shimmer and Shine toys from Fisher-Price, I was sent a magical box full of exciting Shimmer and Shine goodies for us to review.

The Shimmer and Shine toys are based on the magical Nick Jr. series featuring the magical adventures of twin genies, Shimmer and Shine, and their best friend Leah.

Inside the box were lots of goodies for our twins to bring magic to life! In the box was:

Talk & Sing Doll (£24.99)

Float & Sing Palace Friends Playset (£29.99)

Sparkly Gems

The new range of Shimmer and Shine toys will help children to release their inner Genie! Up in the starry sky, Shimmer and Shine are genies-in-training who grant wishes for their best friend, Leah. The wishes don’t always go as smoothly as they plan though, after all, they’re still in training – but they always manage to put things right again.

The Shimmer and Shine song is very catchy and they’ve been singing it every day!

Their favourite toy has to be the Float & Sing Palace Friends Playset. This set is suitable for children aged 3+ and it comes with two dolls, along with their pets, Tala the monkey and Nahal, the tiger. This playset has a real magical surprise! When our twin girls place Shimmer or Shine into the special holder and then lift and lower the jewel, the genie will move up and down like she’s magically floating over the couch!

This playset also features lots of phrases, a song from the television show and it also comes with side pillows for Tala and Nahal to sit on.

The talk & sing doll we were sent is of shine. Our girls love her hair and her sparkly genie look! When you squeeze her tummy, children can hear fun phrases and songs from the show.

Our girls love that Shimmer and Shine are twin sisters just like them! As they say, every girl has the magical power within her to try and succeed! Only Shimmer and Shine fosters imaginative play and resilience in girls through the magical adventures of twin genies-in-training granting wishes! Working together, our girls used teamwork to create stories involving Shimmer and Shine. They were gymnastic genies and then they had to rescue one another after they’d fallen over. They used their magical powers to grant wishes and make everything better again!

We love the new range of toys from shimmer and shine. They’re colourful, cute and full of magic!

For the purpose of this review we were sent the above toys. All views and opinions are 100% my own.
