Scent Lab Review
As a mum of girls I knew that there would come a time where they’d start to show an interest in make-up, clothes and perfume. It’s happened a lot sooner than I’d thought! At just four years old our twins are pretty definite about their fashion choices and they love to play with my make-up.
They playing at being grown-ups and quite often that means they’ll play shop or dress up. When I recently sent Scent Lab to review, I knew that they were going to love it!
Scent Lab is a fun, creative set that allows children to make their own scents. Children can learn the secrets of perfume blending and make their own unique scents.
With more than 64 perfume combinations, we knew we’d be able to make some gorgeous perfumes!

1 pair of protective gloves
Label sheets
Perforated sheets to sniff the scents on
Instruction leaflet
Our girls were really excited about making their own perfumes. It was really easy to do by following the detailed, colour-illustrated activity guide which provides information how to use a base, mid and top note to create individual perfumes.
The first thing we did was don the gloves – well, the girls wore one each! Maybe two pairs could be provided?
We then used the pipets to drop a few droplets of each scent onto the test strips of paper so that we could decide what ones to use.
R chose marine, musk and fruity. M chose pink, citrus and vanilla. The girls carefully used the pipets to drip their scents into a spray bottle each.
Once finished, we twisted the lid on smelt our creations which were rather nice! R and M loved making their own perfumes so much that they decided to make their nanna and their sisters one each too.
We used the gift box and tags to complete our gifts.
Overall I think this is a really great kit. It’s easy to use, lots of fun and I would definitely recommend it.

It looks great but I really wish they wouldn’t package it for girls. My boys love mixing perfumes and making bath bombs etc but if they see it in packaging like this they aren’t interested. Such a shame that they can’t make a more neutral design. #TriedTested

Oh wow, that looks like an awesome set! Fantastic idea! Mini Me has already requested makeup and the like from Father Christmas… I knew the time would come! 🙁

I can remember having something similar when I was little and I loved it. I made perfume for all my aunts and uncles that visited at Christmas time and used up the whole kit. I did manage to save a bottle for myself. It looks like your girls are having lots of fun and I hope their kit lasts a little longer than mine did.
